A crucial point that people keep ignoring or forgetting is that if we stick rather than twist, we might not get top four. In fact, it's looking like being a long, long season ahead at this rate.
A change of manager is no guarantee of top four either, but if Lvg stays and misses top four we'll be looking for a new manager any way.
So we are surely better off gambling now rather than later. And at the end of the day, if we are going to gamble now - which we should (we made the error of not sacking Moyes after the Fulham game) - Mourinho is pretty much the only one available and just so happens to be one of the best managers in the game (maybe the very best).
He comes with baggage, but there's never a dull moment with Jose.

Jay, if you don't know the difference between Van Ghoul and Jose you'll get a rude surprise over the next few weeks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Please tell me what these major differences are that will suddenly see us playing 'attractive' football, that makes us win a lot?
Did you watch Chelsea last season, they were boring as hell for large parts...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
jay is spot on
jose will come to utd and be the same jose he has always been. Boring and successful and as soon as things start to go wrong falls out with everyone and leaves the club.

Chelsea, until last week were the laughing stock of the league. I can take boring, I fecking hate the baggage.
Bayern were crap after LVG took them to a league title and CL final. Look at their lack of success on the back of his rebuild.....
...........................
Bayern improved after LVG left. He won the tittle in his fist season. Then got them hovering at mid table in his second season till he get sacked. Its same with Barca, Itll be the same with United.
LVG's teams gets worse DURING his tenure, ( key word 'during'. There is absolutely nothing to suggest that he is capable of improving the team if United stick with him

Yep
I don't see how the fact that teams have done better after he left is a positive. It just suggests that the man replacing him is doing a better job

No, we are better off waiting and hiring the right manager.. panic and it will be the wrong one again and Jose is certainly not right for us. We can sack LVG and hire and interim but anything but Jose. I'd even rather Giggs and I don't want him as manager.
------------------------
I don't agree that he is the wrong manager though. His track record is incredible. Again, he's not perfect, but other than Pep I can't see who really fits the bill. We are in the age of the managerial merry go round, rather than having a manager like Fergie who will rebuild from the bottom up.
We need to get used to that idea and Mourinho is the perfect fit in accordance with the way the game is going, plus the fact he is undeniably in the top two managers in the world.

You must have missed his Ajax team then.

a few people mad the argument for giving moyes time as well. We all know how that turned out. I was the biggest moyes critic but that argument had more credibility than giving lvg time.
LVG has never tried to get us fans on his side. He always has that air of everyone else being stupid. SO it is no surprises that the knives are out. Had he being playing the utd way he would have received a lot more support.

he just got Holland to a WC semi final.
He got us from 7th to 4th, and could well improve on that come May....
Busby, maybe no sane girl wants to have kids with him. Can't say i blame them.

That is exactly what I have been sayin as well. the last manager I want at utd is jose. Winning by any means hold zero appeal to me and football is entertainment first for me.
