It's not always about money.
So in order to progress we should buy good players? I think you've stumbled onto a great blueprint there that nobody else is aware of.
So you've go £150 mil minimum to buy these players,!nothing is impossible! that is for starters.
Can't see Everton allowing 1 let alone 2 of their players crossing the park.
Butland would be a huge improvement on Mig, just hope he doesn't come with the "England" tax.
Klopp has never been a manager to splash big bucks but more install belief into young talent.
Stones Barkley butland and gundogan eh
Stones & Barkley to Liverpool?
Go and have a lie down GB.
"Klopp has never been a manager to splash big bucks but more install belief into young talent. "
Didn't really have the money to begin with at Dortmund, but when they had more he didn't exactly spend it well.
Think he will stick to trying to identify cheap, younger players with potential, much like Rodgers

I was thinking the same, is facking serious
So now you admit that your squad isn't good enough to challenge for the "title"?
Didn't Liverpool spend £200mill already and wasn't Brenda that said if you spend £100mill you should win the title?
Full of BS coming out of Anfield me thinks
Yeah ok, ok...i DONT expect the two lads to move from blue to red, BUT the point on quality stands.

We don't really have any choice in the matter. We don't have the finances to convince the top players to come. Of course we can afford one off fees for top players but we don't have the war chest to convince them there will be a steady stream of class which is what they want to see before signing.
So its damaged goods, prospects and overpriced gambles for us. That's the reality of our market.

I'm surprised nobody else has figured out spending bucketloads on high quality players can be a key to success. You shouldn't waste your time on here, a career in rocket science beckons
Verts...yeah, working well for Utd and CFC this season eh, smart lad.
Worked well for every club who won the PL the last few years didn't it?
...or are you disagreeing with your own article now?

Define ''quality''.
You appear to equate it with 'perceived value'.
The first paragraph in your post mentions players who are yet to win anything, are in a team below yours but you believe they'll make your team better because the market value says they will?
You don't need to spend a bucket load to have a good team/squad. You should have learnt that by now.

yes but he got back 79mill + on loan fees.
BR did say that, he was obviously having a dig and it went a wrong for him, most managers say something similar.
Challenge for the title? TBH mate, i dont thinnk anyone can rule out anything this season, the "doh" is remarkable considering leicester were top and spurs have only lost 2 games...neither is normal is it!
GB
Spurs being in the top five is very normal mate.
Gundogan would end up a waste of money. When he plays he is fantastic but already very injury prone. The demands of the premierleague would make it worse. You'd have your own version of Diaby/Wilshere
Sandy..really? how long has the top division been goinig> Whats spurs top 5 look like...OR, is it just the last say 5yrs.
When do you start looking at a teams historic position? In fairness doesnt it have to be when the team played in the top division, surely??
Barkley and Stones are two players right from the top draw, they would take us places these lads.
The chances of us getting them would be very slim indeed but I wouldn't be put off as the big teams will all be wanting them and I don't believe we can allow to keep missing out on the best players and these two for me are class.
Well, GB, I think trying desperately link Liverpool with being a top 4 side is a tad....too early!
Give Klopp chance to buy his own style players and at least work on the system during off- season, then I believe Klopp will improve Liverpool.
Until then, he's firefighting with a below average bunch of players - bar one or two, of course.
About Leicester, well it's commendable and wishful thinking to believe that little Leicester will stay in the top 4 come May, but like I said, it won't happen
Leicester already look very ordinary after the onset of seasonal fatigue against your club and now face City, who'll want to show their intentions
We can bid tvj , but the players will almost certainly say no and/or the bigger clubs will step in. Maybe we could get lucky but its doubtful
