Yet they have mocked Christianity several times.
I haven't seen gangs of Christians running round shooting cartoonists in revenge.

If anyone attacks her then they are just sick twisted criminals.
She has the right to wear what she wants.
At face value it's shocking racism. But if I understand it correctly, the cover is supposed to be lampooning the attitudes of racists and making a point about the hypocrisy of a Europe that switches from piety about drowned children to wild generalisations about the dangers of 'these floods of migrants'.
The problem is that in the digital world information flies around without context and nuance is lost. Millions of people now sincerely believe that Hebdot has published a cartoon worthy of Goebbels.

The only thing it really highlights, for me, is all those people giving it the social outrage with their "Je Suis Charlie" probably had very little idea what they were backing.

Agreed RR the nuance is lost on a lot of people. However, when the shock value of the distorts the message too much, that most can't understand it, I believe the cartoonist has failed in his job.
Admittedly it does require knowing the cartoon within the context of Hebdo's style. Surely a lot of people know they are satirists though after the shooting
