as to the speirs thing, I suspect he was told that the billy boys is a good tune
but if it was in conversation its impossible to prove one way or the other

Back to what I said to laudrup you are too quick in accepting one side of a story
this is due to your in built bias and if it was against my club I would be the same.
As I see it the herald, should have either not ran a story they couldn't prove OR backed their journalist. They fecked up totally.
They should also have told the rangers directors to feck off and not bowed to any threats of removing income, (I don't blame rangers for this I blame the herald totally)
And as to the cheating claim LNS did say you cheated and fined old co 250K for that cheating, so again not a lie

ps as to the hearld statement the line in it "The issue was whether we could defend in court a contentious statement and the advice given was that we could not"

Reads to me as we couldn't prove what was said, not that speirs lied.

Whether the story Spiers published first was true or not, he should of had the bottle to name the director he claimed made the statement.

As much as Journalistic integrity does not really exist in this mini America it's all about the £££s.

In reality the apology was issued because a company threatened to remove substantial advertising revenue, which is wrong!

Not many coming off well in this story.
