Pretty annoyed with these players deciding to suddenly jump ship last minute, Torres first and now this. I hate Chelsea.
But I will certainly miss Raul, and hope he gets his chances this season at Chelsea, but they will certainly be limited, especially once Essien is back, and I can still see Chelsea signing Modric in January, and then he won't get game time and he doesn't deserve that.
Torres, Benayoun found out the hard way that the grass isn't always greener, I have a horrible feeling Meireles will too.
Wasnt giving you the clap ... That would itch. Ill try again.
It's not the same situation as with Torres. Raul is well liked by the fans that I've spoken to. He also had a well publicised disagreement with LFC over his wages. We will miss his creativity, but once a player wants to leave LFC hes better off out of the club asap.
Mr Bassett,
Torres was wanting to leave for a while - his body language told us so, unfortunately for a great talent it seems his mentality was defeatist, so when the time came he pushed through a quick deal.
Benayoun was pre agreed - i believe he and Rafa had problems towards the end.
Raul - was key for us IMO however the guy got paid 30k which is ridiculous for someone of his talent. I suspect his age meant we couldnt offer him a bigger package due to the clubs policy, which is fair enough.
I agree to a certain point but the reason Torres got what he got was because of his importance to the team and the fans! Don't get me wrong, Raul is a decent player and added depth to the squad but the mans not Leo Messi and was by far and a way no where near are best player.
Had we sold one of are players this time last season under the previous regime, I would have been devastated that that money would not be there in January to strengthen the team! I have none of those concerns over fsg!
Good luck Raul but you'll be remembered more for your tattoos and hair cut than for anything else!
King Luis Fair point, however i do believe hes in the top 5 in regards to critical players:
Pepe
Lucas
Luis
Kuyt
Raul
Stevie is important but i mean in terms of the current available squad
Just googled the Meireles 'middle finger' incident again to laugh at the image and with all of the pics was a link to a Man U fans site. Unbelievably, one of their 'fans' e-mailed the FA and at least one of them telephoned the FA with a view to getting him a 2 game ban, because, get this..."If Rooney gets a 2 game ban for swearing at a camera, then he deserves it too", the one who e-mailed went on to say that his younger brother saw it and has been doing it ever since...To think of them doing this nearly made me laugh my junk off
Torres proclamations of unity two weeks prior to him leaving the club, then his disparaging remarks he made after he left were always going to lead to acrimony. He has a tendency to say what others want to hear and it came back to bite him on the bum.
As long as RM shows a little more respect to his previous employers and us the fans there will be no problem and we will wish him all the best.
I also agree that he isn't what i would describe as a creative player. I see his style of play along the lines of Lampard, who i also don't think is that creative. Both are great at well timed runs and possess a cracking shot. RM is also a decent passer too.
They are however both effective players, but not necessarily creative. They also both excel at keeping the ball when under pressure.
Good luck to RM... but he would be wise not to start slating his previous employers to gain favour with the fans of his new club. Unlike Torres I don't remember him making statements like f LFC being the only English club he would ever play for.
"Now he's an uncreative, injury prone bottler in the tackle, who would struggle to get a place before Adam and Henderson. Ridiculous."
Agree he is a good player and I'd have preferred to keep him. But he isnt particularly creative. And whoever is saying he is in top 5 most important players is just wrong. He's so not!
I think once we get a certain Mr Gerrard back and the most important thing, a fit, rested and fresh Mr Gerrard. We won't be missing anyone!!! I really do think people have been quite disrespectful and forgetful because we hav'nt seen Stevie since march!
The team and squad are in a totally different place and at a total different level this season. We have a strong left side to are team, which we hav'nt had since the 80's, we have 4 strong centre halves and we still have the best goal keeper in world football.
I don't think were looking to shabby and see no need for looking backwards
We lost a good player ..........who wanted out and is replaceable. We will deal with it. We 'may' struggle with creativity when SG aint available till the next window. The positive is that the young lads will have chances.
Last season I would be inclined to agree that he was in the top 5 most creative players.
This season he is not the engine room anymore.
He's 28 aswell, he should get a chance in the CL!!
Good luck to him, as long as he is respectful.
The screen name stays though...
Never really thought of him as creative - in the Alonso or Aquilani role, but he's always been solid - a good team player, who I'm sad to see leave.
I just don't want us all to start slagging him like we did - rightly or wrongly - Torres. He deserves better than that for 'that' goal alone...
What's the timescales on Stevie G, incidentally?
3 games in and you say "this season he isnt"
How many games has he started?
Dalglishs Double Fist Pump
The fact that he can't get into the starting 11 shows any person with a brain that he clearly isn't the driving force behind Liverpool...
On the one hand, Raul leaves with my best wishes. On the other, I hope Lucas gives him a few crunching tackles to think about when we play Chelsea.
I think he was a victim of curcumstances. He was signed last year with the promise of a long term contract that would double his wages if he performed well in his first season by Hicks and Gillet. Since then weve been taken over by FSG who dont give big contracts to players over 25.
He'll be missed as he's a quality player but weve been here before and survived.
How many games has he started
...............................
One this season, away at Exceter!
I'm not angry with Raul for leaving, just disappointed. I'm a bit angry at Liverpool for letting both Aquilani and Meireles go. I don't think either player would have got in to a fully-fit first choice XI, but they gave us an option from the bench that I think we'll be severely lacking now for the rest of the season.
Only time will tell but I think we'll seriously regret letting them both go. Especially Aquilani on loan . If we'd have kept him it would've been my perfect transfer window (realistically of course).
Didi
I agree we are lacking now Raul has left, but Dalgish won't put up with players who are not commited to the club. If that's the case with Raul we are better off rid.
Aggers right!
If a player shows the slightest ilk that he's not up for it 100%, then he's got to go! You can't allow players like that to undermine team spirit, every part of the club players, coaching staff, board, fans and even the lads who walk round selling the bottles from them things on there backs on match days (I will one day leave Anfeild with one of those backpacks) have to be pulling in the same direction.
I think in this window we've spent £40 million overall what with players coming and going, the wage bill will be no different I would have thought and the squad is in a much better position. We will have money in January and I expect us to do some decent business then!
We're looking good!
Ach - Good luck to him. I only find the Chelsea fans funny in their hypocrisy.

Lets not do to Meireles what we did to Torr
