shevchenko, Veron, Rebrov, Morientes
I thought Veron was going to be magnificent after his first few games.
Shevchenko (sp). Although probably way past his best when he arrived.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
is this where this is going?
Diego Forlan, Falcao, Veron

Its what got me thinking but I'm sure he'll be good wherever he goes. Just won't be the superstar striker that he thinks he is. Won't even be best striker in the league
Most recent : Falcao (He was no doubt one of the best once..such tragic end to his career)

Veron the most obvious for me.
Over the moon when we signed him and his first few of games, especially against Everton at OT and Spurs away,he was showing some real promise. But he never really clicked consistantly into the PL.He,along with Blanc, came from leagues where more time was allowed them on the ball for them to show their true ability. In the PL it was the oposite.
I do think though, which is rarely brought up,is the fact Veron form was gradually on the decline the moment McClaren left the club.
a prime Diego Forlan is the greatest loss to the PL, the likes of Sheva and Falcao were past their best when they arrived but Forlan had it all ahead of him, was genuinely one of the top 10 footballers on the planet for a few years
Cavani has got to be up there somewhere.
George Weah was probably past his best when he came here but the former world player of the year didnt exactly set the league alight.
Cavani practically anonymous..
And to top it off Mex, we flogged him when he started to play well for us.
I thought Litmanen did pretty well for yous SRP. He came on a free transfer or very small fee and was pretty influential at times
