'Elements', SLM - you can't tar an entire body with the same brush.
For want of a better expression
I would also suggest for the sake of debate SouthLondonManc, that if someone is walking down the street with a weapon designed for rapid mass killing that scenario 2 was better handled. You could also point out that in the first part the individual with the gun actively engaged the officer, whilst the individual in the second clip ignored the officer until instructed to get on the ground.
Different cops will interpret and handle a situation differently, but if you're here to complain that a police officer is wrong for reacting aggressively towards an individual walking down the street armed with an automatic weapon - in this climate of terror - then I can offer little sympathy to your point of view on this, regardless of the colour of his skin.

No he didn't,
In the first clip the officer walks up nicely
In the 2nd he pulls up 20 yards away and draws his gun and starts screaming

The guy is walking down the street with an automatic weapon. Would you walk up to him politely. Think of the factors at play here; mass shootings throughout america on a weekly basis, worldwide terrorism, gun crime.
I'm sorry, but your point is stupid. The real issue here is that the cop in the first clip was moronic.

You are looking at it the wrong way.
Both guys were not pointing their guns, they were being passive only difference is skin colour
you have posted a video of a couple of guys in a quiet suburban looking car park who has the gun strapped to his back and two people filming the police and compared it to a guy walking along a busy street with it by his side?
it's hardly the same thing the police definety shoot black people but your video is just daft comparing two totally different things

while there is a difference made... I'd rather the cops took the second approach, regardless of colour. The guy was put to the ground but not assaulted or mishandled
Theres also a bit of a lack of context... its visibly different police departments (uniforms are different)... different areas.
you can compare them but a better comparison would be how differently the same department handled the situations.
Like I said though... I'd rather the white guy got similar treatment to the black guy than vice versa
You are looking at it the wrong way.

I'm sorry SouthLondonManc but I don't believe I am.
I'm looking at it from the point of view that if either of those individuals with the automatic rifle had malice in their hearts, the first officer would have been killed and who knows what might have happened. The second officer handled the situation far more sensibly. We all want approachable cops, but the guy in the first clip was taking it to the extreme in my humble opinion.
That being said, as pollocks attested, the circumstances of the two clips are very different.

The first cops a moron... but the second clip there is nothing out of order.
You need to look at it without the emotion of what else is in the news... The problem with sensationalist activism like this is it provokes offense when there isn't really any to be taken... other than the first cop being a melon

The modern day phenomenon of people who would rather get likes or go viral than offer their help, in a lot of cases.
Social media is aiding people to the point where it's likely going to be compulsory for all policemen to wear body cams which should make illegal shootings happen less and less.
If people keep releasing witness videos of innocent people being shot the police will have to act to quell discord
was eventually going to happen people have had enough, suspect a few more events like this will happen

Very likely, and sensible. Would also aid in the gathering of evidence, and on scene witness reports rather then relying on written recollection statements after the event.
Anyone who has been to the US will have found police to be humourless, almost robot like in their approach to communicating.
What a load of nonsense that cracked me up. Stopped reading there though
More unarmed white people have been killed in the US this year than black people by police.
Maybe they are too trigger happy, innocent people have died and that's never acceptable but you see things like what's happened in Dallas and it does make you think of things from the polices side of things.
There is differences between both clips!
First one, 3 guys all with camcorders.
Second one, 1 guy walking down the street with with his phone.
These police officers have to make split second choices which could and often do endanger they're lives and safety. Anybody who things that the events in Dallas where bound to happen after the shootings of the 2 men in question need to take a look at themselves. Police shooting suspects between a number of terrorists openly going out to murder as many police officers as possible by firing into an open demonstration full of people CB be compared!

Which one? The black guy in a camouflage tshirt?
It wasn't the media that accused him of being a suspect, it was the Dallas Police via Twitter
lets be honest though, its not just blacks.
i saw a video yesterday of a woman who was under arrest and cuffed.
her 6 year old daughter was there and they were trying to get her to wait in the car.
as they were walking the woman spat in the direction of the cop, who then punched her full on in the face before forcing her to the ground and calling her a stupifd little beyatch... all in front of her child.
now, if she did spit ( which you didnt even see on the video, up until this point she had been co-opering 100% so its debatable) the brutality shown be this cop is disgusting.
"I'd imagine they are like police in the UK, treat them with respect and it will be reciprocated."
Well no.
Police may swear an oath to uphold the law but they aren't robots programmed to abide by the law.
They human beings which means some of them are capable of good and some of evil.
At the moment in America, they have a large minority that are capable of horrible things, especially when it comes to black people.
People just don't reciprocate respect if they think you are a lesser human being for having different colour skin.
As always oppression has tipped people over the edge into extremism.
