Just so that some of you numbnuts who have no idea about the USA other than what you see in the papers, here is a bit of perspective.

A lot of racism is not caused by white people. There is, for example, a TV channel called BET. This is Black Entertainment Channel.

Imagine what would happen if there was a White Entertainment Channel.

I was stuck in a traffic jam earlier so was being a bit grumpy, so let me try and explain the BET thing a bit better.

I am white. I don't find Black Entertaiment Television offensive at all.

But, over here in the USA it would be considered racially offensive by the Black community if some one came up with a TV Company that called itself White Entertainment Television .

The Baltimore riots were over a black suspect dying in police custody after being transported to jail and this was labled as being a result of racism by the Baltimore Police. Four of the six police involved in the custody of this person were actually black officers.

Some of the black community tried to defuse the situation and some black female celebrity came out with something along the lines of "we need to stop seeing racism when it isn't there. Also having things like BET doesn't help our cause".

I kind of thought she had a valid point.

Now, this woman (for some reason I thought it was Halle Berry) may well be a moron, but every now and then a moron will get something right.

My point was on the extremists who shoot police not the entire group. But OK then

I have a lot of family in Spain pp. And its something the Spanish, Italians, French don't understand. One aspect of colonisation by the British was to create a lot of commonalty which is actually not understood that well in europe and definitely those across the pond, until for example you talk about South America to the Spanish or Brazil to the Portugese.

I think the world is globalising very quickly whether ppl like or not. And British ppl are probably most prepared for it without realising it because of the past.

Britain has obviously been an influence to India, but societies values and injustices are nothing like ours. Not even close.

Actually they are more Victorian values which are difficult to remember even for us. However I don't know if you have travelled there but middle class is actually is very similar to us.

Using the word black isn't racist and a black person coming out with that statement doesn't make it true. Do you think the police are justified in their actions because black officer David Clarke comes out and says the utter tripe he does?! Using the defence that because a black person says something doesn't mean it's valid. All you have to do is think about WHY black people created insitutions that catered to them... BECAUSE THE WHITE PEOPLE OPPRESSED THEM!!
