maybe it can go towards the fines that the GB have caused us to get
at including the pennies to make the figure look that wee bit more impressive on first glance
they should do one to pay the fine as well.
depending on the size of the fine we get (even tho its absurd to get one) that could be publicity money well spent.

The bhoys are deluded.
The time for fines has passed, stand closures for the group stages.
stand closures for the group stages
======
thanks for your optimism that we will get to the groups
I have no issue with anyone raising money for charity but who are these people? Who is making decisions on behalf of the Celtic support.?
Now it seems that the gb are deciding on our politics as well as which songs we get to sing.

In fairness this to me is much more admirable than flags at a game. At least it is a genuine contribution to something and could make a difference.
My only confusion is why there isn't a desire to start a fund to match the fine for the club. If those fans were saying the fine was worth the punishment and they were prepared to cover it in order to preserve their freedom of speech or passion for that particular cause I would say fair play. This however just starts to look a bit weird for a section of football fans to have absolutely no interest in what it means for their club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not even sure that would work. How would you Give the fine money to the club?
Nor do I think the club should/would/could accept it.
It basically saying....do whatever you want as long as you're prepared to pay for it. I don't think that's acceptable
There's nowhere on the gofundme page that says they will pay the fine
"We aim to raise £15,000* (changed of course now) which will be split 50/50 between Medical Aid Palestine (MAP) and to the Lajee Centre, a Palestinian creative cultural children's centre in Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem. "
Nothing about covering the fine Celtic will get.

Accepting it could be seen as condoning it - no go area I would think.
I think this is a good thing and I'd imagine that non-Celtic supporters who support this cause have donated.
I hope the money finds its way to people who need help. I'm not sure how easy that is and, as with all charity money, it's essential that it doesn't get taken by the state and used for other means.

Agreed ath...that's why I think it's a non starter
well in that case paddy they should do one to pay the fine.
in retrospect as mags says, perhaps they can't pay it directly, but if we were fined say £15k they could raise the money and purchase strips etc for donation.

MagnumI don't either but at least from a supporter perspective it would show there was some consideration for the club. It would be a sense of saying we know this is wrong and we are willing to be accountable for our actions, but this is a cause we really feel strongly about.
Instead it has become a bit of a protest with no actual thought for the club or how it might affect other supporters. That's the part I think is strange.
If I look at it the other way, and I know it is a terrible comparison, but if Rangers were banned from singing certain songs but a group decided UEFA are wrong and we don't care what they say so carried on regardless. The club get punished but rather than help the club we then started donating towards paramilitary groups to show our support. I think at that point people would think for these guys the football is irrelevant, which is what I think here.

Get that right up you UEFA you bunch of hypocrites.
They aren't raising money for the fine as like all decent people they find the fine despicable.
Hopefully UEFA joins the rest of us in the twenty first century.
