Why are these kids getting younger and younger as you try to make your point?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

the only age I mentioned was 5 years old. Twice.

We've been talking about 'children', 'kids' and '5 year olds'.

I thought you'd be able to work out from that just what age group we were discussing.

Baseball. Boring. Cricket. Dull at best. Used only as an excuse to get away from the wife and get leathered. Only way to make them interesting.

Basketball, boring to ok. Hockey, bit better. Nfl is not bad, prefer it to rugby. Ufc, couldn't care less.

Most American sports are dull.

I have to be a Red Sox fan because my wife is a Bostonian.
But you left out .... Tennis, Athletics, Swimming,..... all sports that I watch.
Oh, and don't mention Golf which I hate with a passion.

Played American football for the last ten years. It's a great sport and more people should definitely try it.

I have seen so many people over the years who have thought of themselves as hard men and thought it's a pu*sies game, one or two rounds of okies and they develop an "injury" and you never see them again. Rugby guys in my experience are the worst.

I totally understand where people are coming from but with the NFL, I find it boring. Their is no variety in the league every team essentially does the same thing.

I recommend watching the NCAA, it's much more fun to watch. You see way more variety and much more interesting match ups. You can have a guy who is essentially NFL ready up against a guy who will end up an accountant after college.

That's the accent!
But the Boston Brahmins, of which she is a member, speak mid Atlantic.

Are you from Belmont? Just round the corner?
She sounds maybe more like Elizabeth Warren.

Lived in Belmont for 10 years. Hence the name. Moved when I was ready to buy a house and I'll be buggered if I could afford one there. Kept the name as manfromeverett didn't have the same ring

Well I know the feeling about housing prices these days.
In the summer time (but only in the summer) you might call me "manfromcapecoddy"!

I enjoy watching the NFL It took some time to understand the rules (still have trouble with some of them!) but the more I learned, the more enjoyable it became. My main complaint is that, thanks to TV commercials, the game can take more than two and a half hours to watch. TG for PVR's.

Next to the NFL, I watch some ice hockey but pay little attention to it until the spring months when the playoffs begin. Basketball does little for me (I think you have had to play the game to appreciate the skills and tactics) and baseball is like watching paint dry although I do acknowledge there is a certain amount of skill and tactics at play during the time it takes to get through a game.

The game I was brought up on, fitba', is still my sport of choice but it has changed so much over the past 20+ years with styles of play so transparent nowadays and with the authorities so oblivious to the diving and simulation, I am finding easier to switch off and find alternative sources of sporting entertainment these days.

Certainly flies by when you are at an actual game

Yes mate, been to a few at Wembley, though not for sometime, I used to watch the London Monarchs regularly.
