Looks like things didn’t quite go according to plan for a lot of teams this year.

I am devastated to see the apparently brilliant Boston Scousers miss out on regular qualification.

Not sure how I feel about the play-in format.

Boston Scousers.

I read a decent article about the play-in a few weeks ago. The main argument was that it makes the regular that bit more interesting. It gives more incentives to teams lower down that aren’t quite good enough for the play offs, which can discourage tanking, as well as giving more incentives for teams in 7th and 8th to push on and finish higher due to the bigger risks involved. It argues that ultimately it’s making the regular season a bit more competitive due to more teams having something to play for. Which I think sounds fair.

That makes sense - I don’t see how a team outside the traditional playoff bracket wins it though (not that 8th place ever do) - must be obscene burnout by finals

They obviously won’t. But that’s not the intention behind it.

I don't mind the playoff play in series. Seriously though, all these players take off multiple games a season now so it seems like this is the NBA righting the ship for their drop in ratings and making the players play more.

It’s all about the playoffs and they have Harden (& had LMA) who love a playoff flop. Many a team have looked good in the regular season and the only chance they win is if KD remains fit (East looks weak as ever)

Yeah I get that. Was just wondering if your views have changed.

Lakers look like they could be in trouble if AD and LeBron can’t stay fit.
