The only thing that concerns me about our new manager is that he's a miserable Scot. I would take him over the 'full of personality but utterly useless' Zenga but his downcast demeanour will grate just as much if we continue to lose games.
At least he won't shove a traffic cone up somebody's bum when he gets upset, so that's a blessing.
So all in all he has my full support until Christmas and then we'll take things week by week. He certainly has a squad that is way better than bottom six of the Championship.
No matter who it is has to be supported but whoever it is easy won't be as popular as Walt on the terraces.

if the terraces like losers they're best ignored.
News from Tim Spiers that no decision has been made and interviews are to be conducted today and tomorrow.
Reports that Roy Keane has been seen in compton..

Not over the moon with Lambert but probably the best of the 'C' listers !

I think most were disgruntled with performances towards the end. He was a likeable character, but I am sure they accepted Fosun's decision to sack him, so long as we bring in a better replacement.
I think any manager will be popular on the terraces if they either win a lot of games, or produce exciting football, or ideally both.
Having had a look through the records of Lambert, Sherwood and Pearson then if it really does rest between those then I think Lambert would be my choice. Pearson seems hit and miss and liable to fall out with people. Not convinced about Sherwood although he did well with a good team he inherited at Spurs.
Ikeme wont play at the weekend but Nigeria are hopeful he will be fit for their World Cup qualifiers the week after
It is a bit of a strange decision this one if it is to be Lambert,Sherwood or Pearson, surely with all the financial power Fosun have and the power Mendez has we can do better than those three,I can understand the comment that they want a manager with championship experience but surely the best manager they can get for the job is what they should be aiming for.
So what happens if our next manager doesn't win a game up to Christmas and he gets sacked, what then?
I think Lambert will turn things around. He will be more cautious than most fans will want, but I think he will pick up results. Whether the turn around will be enough to satisfy Fosun remains to be seen, but I can't see us finishing bottom half with him in charge.
I think Pearson and Sherwood would each struggle.
Pearson is rigid as a manager and will try to impose his own style regardless of whether we have the players for it. It what he did at Derby and ultimately led to his sacking alongside him falling out with people again. He did a similar thing at Leicester, where he played the same style for the entirety of the Premier League season, which didn't click until the end. He won't have the time to do that here and will probably upset people along the way.
Sherwood just reminds me of Dean Saunders. He will talk rubbish, rate himself but will probably fail. Not really interested in him.
If it is Lambert then I hope he learns to communicate to his players a bit better than the way he speaks to the media. His post match WM interviews were hilariously mumbled tedious mono tone nonsense. Constantly in denial about the situation, defending the indefensible, very Saunders-like in that respect.
His record at Norwich was excellent and not bad at Wycombe & Colchester before, but Championship and Premier League success has been fleeting, I not sure he's got the personality to bounce back.
Pearson on the other hand has plenty of self confidence, probably no better in terms of a managerial record, but at least you can understand him when he's telling you to feck off and die.
Lambert was successful in the Premier League with Norwich.
I think his time with Aston Villa can be judged by what happened after he left. His team were underinvested in for years by Randy Lerner. He ended buying young Championship and League One players or gambling on foreign imports. He managed to keep them treadwater whilst all the fans bemoaned the fact the team wasn't progressing.
As soon as he left, Aston Villa went into a tail spin (originally led by Tim Sherwood, who is also linked with us) and carried on by successors. Looking at Villa now, I think he did an adequate job of delaying the inevitable decline through squad neglect from the owners. I struggle to see that as a failure.
Lambert's time at Blackburn in the Championship was pretty average, however they also do not seem to be better off for getting rid.
He is Scottish so that helps, though very hard to understand.
Just reading about Cloughie at Derby, (he's just moved there from Hartlepool). His philosophy was that there's no substitute for hard work.
There we have it from one of the finest managers ever to have worked in the game.
Hard to argue with that. He was a cantankerous old thing, but he certainly achieved results with his work ethic.
Frank de Boer sacked at inter.........
Hmmmm
It's Paul Lambert.
He was at Bucks Head scribbling notes last night.
That's him doing his homework, wise move but no guarantee that he's the anointed one.

It was either him, or someone dressed up as him, seeing as it was Halloween.
I think out of the 3 mentioned i'd prefer Lambert, probably the best of a bad bunch.
