How "right wing" of you.
_______________
I was pointing out the irony of calling other people "false" whilst using the pretentious word for "false"
Didn't think that needed explaining...

There's nothing pretentious about using the word faux in that context. Faux is a word in the Oxford English dictionary. Stop hating on the educated, you fascist...
Thank god RDD isn't involved in this debate.

Pretty sure he wasn't arguing that.
What I will say is that there is nothing 'faux' about the outrage at this.
This was unacceptable by UA and the police, or who ever it was, who manhandled this man off the aircraft.

Violence and physically removing someone are worlds apart.
______________
Correct.
When the victim is injured, it's a clear sign of violence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed. Hence the whole "they dealt with it badly" part. The physically removing him part is fine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It isn't "fine".
It's legal, but far from fine.
The worst thing of all is the guy they choose to remove may have been the most useful person to keep on board other than the pilot etc with him being a doctor.
Morons.

He does know english has a lot of french words right?
I think people need to step away from the legalities of this.
There are ways in which I can absolutely ruin the life of my neighbour without breaking the law.
Colossal multinational corporations can exploit their workers, generating vast sums of money whilst paying next to no tax without breaking the law.
Billionaires can sit on mega-yachts moored in the harbours of African cities in which people are literally starving to death without breaking the law.
The fact is people and organisations can commit morally horrific acts without breaking the law.
They may have acted within the bounds of the law, but the behaviour of United in this instance is morally reprehensible and indefensible.
I saw this earlier and thought I must have missed something in the story or the mans behaviour as I couldn't see any justification whatsoever for Uniteds actions. The commentary afterwards seems like a spectacular own goal as well.
Theyve even got the media claiming it was due to 'overbooking' which it wasnt, shameful.

As I've said above, I don't really care whether United or the security services acted legally or not.
They acted completely indefensibly on moral grounds as far as I'm concerned.

As I have said above, more than once, UA should have sorted this out before people were allowed to board the aircraft.
I think someone made a mistake somehow
I wonder if this negative feedback for united will make my flights home cheaper later this year?
