They should focus on winning their own fixtures rather than on what Spurs are doing.

If the 2 teams had run ins that were similar in terms of difficulty these kind of debates would be valid. Unfortunately after the Everton game Chelsea have 4 games left where they should only have to turn up to win so when they are played shouldn't matter.

Agreed.

Also, Conte makes a valid point, the last few games of the season should be played at the same time going forward, this will make make it fairer for whoever is involved in the title race towards the end of the season.

I don't think it will ever happen for obvious reasons

If we all played at the same time (to which I have no objections) then there would be complaints about the respective quality of opposition.

You can't make it fair.

For example everyone gets to play each other twice, but in reality you could end up playing a team in form at one of the season whilst your rival plays the same team out of form at the end of the season.

Not fair for two reasons:

Chelsea spent £500 millions more and have never played youngsters - Spurs on the other hand have some of the best young players in the country, all given chance by the manager.

2nd, the fact that Costa who is one of the dirtiest player hardly gets booked and never twice in a game.

Come on Everton

I am yet to see an article on this forum when you don't actually come across as feckin cry baby kant?

Going back to the article, Conte was also referring to the point that during the last throws of the title race, teams should have the same number of days rest/preparation between games.

But to defend the PL a bit here, they is always the challenge of fitting in re-arranged fixtures at the end of the season.....................not sure they can do it as fairly as Conte would like

The league is inherently unfair, just a fact of life. Some teams have greater resources than others. However, the beauty of football is that the team with the most resources doesn't always win the league (as logic dictates).

Leicester massively beat the odds last season, winning the PL and finishing above many FAR richer clubs than they; clubs with better players, managers, etc.

I think sky are missing a trick here by not having 5 Chelsea fans off here and 5 spurs fans having a show discussing the title run in

What we should have is that every team plays the exact same team at the exact same time every weekend. For example Chelsea, Tottenham, and every other team in the league should all play Everton away on Sunday at the exact same time. This is the only fair way.

posted on 29/4/17

So, OP, you say Chelsea have an unfair advantage by playing second in 3 of the 5 games.
However, you then go on to say if Chelsea were to play second this weekend it would allow Spurs the advantage.

posted on 29/4/17

The unfair advantage is the combinantion of that and having the four point head start. How is it fair that Chelsea have a head start? Should have equal points.

I agree your never going to have a football game that is fair, however, shouldn't you try and make it as fair as possible really?

Personally as a neutral, I'd like to see Spurs give Chelsea a run for their money by putting the pressure on. With Chelsea playing first, it will always be in their hands regardless which for me gives them more of an advantage than for Spurs, unless Spurs were to play first.

Chelsea actually play after Spurs 3 times out of the last 5 games there. This for me gives an unfair advantage on Chelsea for me

What you could also do is make Spurs' opponents have 10 players on the pitch from the start instead of 11 to make it easier for them to win and put more pressure on Chelsea to make it more exciting for you. Or you could have Chelsea's opponents have 12 players on the pitch. It's Chelsea's fault for doing well this season so far, they should have to really work for the title.

Good ideas hf. What sort of format would you go for?

A trash talk, Haye v Bellew type show with Myself, 69, Mr'C', Biggish and Superb verses Sandy, morespurs, Jilly the Kidd, Chronic and Ace format.

Or a respectful Joshua v Klitschko sort of affair between Myself, 69, Mr'C', Biggish and Superb against yourself, GG, Harrys, Edin and Palmers arrangement!

Haha Brummie, I cannot do respectful. I''ll be with the trash talk lot
