United far better placed to get back to winning titles etc than we were in the 90's, we held onto the bootroom for too long and didn't adapt to the modernistation (is that a word ) of the game, united will always have my begrudging respect for that, they were by far the most forward thinking club in the country in the 90's.
modernistation
No way that's a word you know what I was trying to say

league cup. 6th place. Tony pulis football. This seems to be a new acceptable standard for utd fans. Long may it continue
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it's not. Unless we win next Wednesday this season hasn't been good enough.
And I'll accept the football hasn't been good lately but it hasn't been awful all season. In fact Liverpools football has been pretty poor for a while until today.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Clearly in having a wee wum, but it's refreshing to see a Utd fan acknowledge where they are right now.
Winning the Europa will really make your season fairly decent. But losing out on the CL again could be very damaging.
the way Jose is building up the Europa to mask the state of the league campaign would never have been acceptable under fergie. The club and expectations have changed. I find it odd that so many find it acceptable
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm under no illusions of this season.
First half/two thirds of the season we've played some good stuff and often got unlucky or were simply wasteful.
Last couple of months have poor other than the Chelsea game. We've got the job done so far in the Europa though.
This wouldn't have happened or been acceptable under SAF but it was always his own team in the PL era. Jose has signed 4 players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Remind me... how many players did Conte sign this season?? Or even Koeman at Everton?
These are just weak excuses for failure... We've got the job done against the utter dross of Europe... whoopty doo...
If you were under no illusions you'd have said... This season was well below par, but we'll try again next year. Instead of coming up with lame excuses...
I guess you've been beaten by the Mourinho bug...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Conte inherited a team that had won the title easily just over year prior to that and had just stopped playing last season.
Koeman has done a decent job but not as good as Martinez first season and they're where they were generally under Moyes.
I'm not saying our league season has been good enough atall but I'm going to make my judgement on Jose after he's had another transfer window. If he's 6th next season regardless of cup performances he has to go.
