You read too much Daily Mail VC. Fortunately the readership of the Mail and Express is quicky becoming extinct.

Can you name any politician more odious than Gove or a bigger liar than Boris.

How terrible Corbyn and McDonnel are, for wanting social justice and a fair society. They need to reward the greedy and dishonest like the Tories have done for centuries.

We are seeing the strangled utterings of the death throes of a lame government who resort to 'what ifs?' Personal insults, u turns, deals, sorry bungs to the DUP (FFS ).....ad nauseum

You couldn't make it up, but hey lets bang on about Jeremy Corbyn and do all the personal stuff...fnck the firefighters, nurses, teachers, the appalling poverty, it's ok, 'cos I'm alright Jack

Pitiful and desperate.....

I would be happy to test my cognitive abilities against your anyday.

For a start I have managed to work out that stuffing food down your throat and then sitting in an armchair all day isn't that good for your health.

You are on the wrong side of history. Society is moving slowly but inexorably to a system away from the "me me" greed of the Tories. There are temporary blips like the election of congenital idiots like Trump but like global warming the trends are in place. You obviously prefer an unfair society by your Trump like riposte.

Ince should be signing for Huddersfield over the weekend. It just shows how embarrassing the club is when they sell their most talented and prized players to teams like Watford and Huddersfield. Where did it all go wrong?
I've said before tho I'm not bothered who goes as long as they are replaced. Camara was replaced with Eileen the tea lady so no probs but Hughes and since need to be replaced.

Reminds me of the Rainbow song (not Zippy) Since you've been gone.

Yes it seems inconceivable that we are now a "smaller" team than Watford, Bournemouth, Huddersfield and Burnley. It is only temporary though. Like Wigan and Wimbledon they will return to their natural level.

The fact is players are told they must play premier league football at any cost, if that means going to the newly promoted club or an unfancied club to do that then so be it.
We have no right to slate any club that has managed to do what we have failed to in the last 4 years. I'm sure when they pocket the £100m's that goes with being in that league and are in a position to poach the championships best players, they're not that bothered that we are a supposedly bigger club than them.

Cant blame either Ince or Hughes joining bigger Prem clubs

The only problem I have with it, is we as a club always undervalue our players.

Oliver Burke played 31 games for Forest scoring 6 goals and was sold for £13m.
Jonathan Kodija played 52 times for Bristol City scoring 20 goals and was sold for £14m.
Jordan Ibe played 58 times for Liverpool scored 4 goals and was sold for £15m.
Tom Ince has played 108 games for Derby scoring 35 goals yet will be sold for £10m 😡 Defies logic.

We could have set our stall out with Ince at £15m, whether under pressure to sell or not you have to milk these transfers for all they are worth.

Tommo i agree with you 100% on the values of Hughes and Ince. Hughes had to be sold quickly and before July 1st for FFP reasons. Wtf is going on at DCFC. Hull got £17m for McGuire!!
Watford had Derby by the balls with the Hughes deal because of the money we owed them for getting Vydra and Anya so cheaply.

The Burke thing is based on the current idea among coaches that players have to be built like brick $hithouses. Burke fits that bill despite his playing statistics not justifying the price.

I have said it before, that if drug testing was as strict in football as it is in cycling and track and field the physical dimensions of footballers would change. Anyone remember how slight Gareth Bale was when he played for Southampton. I was informed by an ex professional that players started wearing longer shorts in the 90s to hide the injection marks on their thighs.

I am under no doubt that the supplements etc.. that they use are borderline illegal. Can't tar them all with the same brush but clubs will do all they can to seek the advantage. I work with Kevin Nolans cousin (he never mentions it 🙄) and we have had many conversations about footballers extra curricular activities, the players know exactly how long substances stay in their system and even Nasri got caught out last season by having a 'hydration drip'.
But that's another conversation for another thread.

Nothing 'fair' about taking the fruits of labours one person undertook to give it to someone who couldn't be bothered. When will public sector workers go on strike to insist their pensions are comparable to private sector ones? Why is it a 'human right' to bear children that you can't afford to feed? etc, etc...

There cannot be a 'fair society' when not all of its citizens play fair. The liberal-fueled sense of entitlement is ridiculous.

Four days ago VC accused Rowett of wanting only a team of grafters.

Today he doesn't want Ibe or Ince but rues missing out on Whelan.

In conclusion then, take more water with it, VC
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I want a team with flare players and grafters. I think Whelan would have been good in Thorne's place when he gets injured again.

No I don't want Ibe or Ince, I like the Pritchard types of player who run their socks off for the team. I don't want that Forestieri either or Rhodes or Flint. We should go for Barnsley's Roberts. And I don't want that Caulker.

I want to watch a passing footballing team like we had in 13/14 not a bunch of hoofers or daddy's boys.

So you want a team that fails.....

I started this thread to highlight the fact that George and Fozzie had returned.
In my opinion we have the championships best left back and best DM returning. two players we didn't have last season. Also I see Baird as decent cover at DM as he has showed a good range of passing.

I am optimistic going forward and all we need to do is spend the Ince money of one decent attacking midfielder and we are golden.

Even if we dont replace Ince I still think we are stronger than last term.

Still Christie and Keogh to go yet too. Contracts expire today so I expect some movement in the next few days

Need to ship out before we can sign Tommo. Hopefully now Huddersfield are going to hand over some £'s we should be able to sign Wisdom

posted on 1/7/17

Griff, why have we got to sell Ince before we can sign Norman? We have sold Will for more than Norman is going to cost. Why are we in this mess???

posted on 1/7/17

Not sure, but I know they couldn't sign Wisdom to at least the 1st July, that's come and gone.
Derby haven't received any money from Watford had the initial payment didn't even cover the Vydra and Anya debt which Derby have had to settle as part of the deal. So Hughes went to Watford give a cheque from Derby to hand over when he arrived.

Griff things are worse than I thought, what on earth is going on in our beloved club>

I've never liked Ince but I thought he did well last year because he worked harder and now we are letting him go for not a lot. We look like we have given Will away for the interest on the Anya/Vydra deal. What a bl@@dy c**k up.

We are expected to think the owners know better than us, they damn well don't.

The problem with the sugardaddy model of football club goverenance. They are either too generous as per Mel, too tight as per Mike Ashley or too deranged like Fawaz. It all went sour with Lionel and Capn Bob. GSE for all their parsimony in the early years at least ran the club as a business. I assume Mel can't have run his other businesses like he is running Derby.

Hendrick has been missed far more than Hughes and Ince will be. Not bothered about the sales 1 bit. I'm interested in the team. Rowett's 1st 2 signings (Medical permitting) are very good. The final deals are not yet shown..but just relax and wait.
