Jose doesn't say this stuff to take pressure off himself. He does it to reduce the pressure on the players. He knows at United the press jump on the players backs and he is trying to Crete a buffer and room for them to breath

You honestly believe Jose likes to take pressure off his players. Tell that to Mkhi, martial and Shaw then

I think Perisic is clearly one of the targets remaining out of the two, and we'll get him eventually (without sending Martial the other way).
But the DM/CM I don't know how close we are to any deals, or who we're even going for at the moment.

"Arnatovic is poor"
Inconsistent, yes, but on his day he's proven to be a very good player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His day is 1 in 12.

Stretty, showing everyone up again with his amazing knowledge
He had 3 good games last season, right Stretto?
‘The credit of [Romelu] Lukaku and [Victor] Lindelof to be here on time, the credit is not mine, it is Ed Woodward and his team,’ Mourinho said after the 2-0 victory over Manchester City in Houston, Texas.
‘I thank him for that fantastic work to bring us two very important players for us.
‘But we need a bit more when you see the other teams in the Premier League, like Man City, Liverpool and West Ham, the way they get players, good players, important players.
‘The champions have bought three fantastic experienced players.
‘I am thinking about West Ham for the first match of the Premier League. They have got Joe Hart,
Chicharito and [Marko] Arnautovic. It looks like they are playing to win the Premier League, too.
‘The teams are fantastic in the market. I am waiting for a bit more.’
When you read the full comments, he is quite clearly making a point to Ed. Suggesting we aren't "trying" to win the league with the transfers so far.
It's funny really
There's no issue here. Yet when people try to say there's no issue it's suddenly 'making excuses for Jose' when in reality the only issue is what these people are making
They're inventing the problem and think they're the cure
Amazing

He's just stating a fact
That clubs ask for huge money for players. It's the same as if Klopp said that Leipzig are asking too much for Keita etc
It's really not an issue with Ed. He's dons well to be fair to him.
Jose is allowed to say stuff without it being excuses
Jose's right this time though, we did need at least 4 new signings if we are expected to challenge, everyone on here was saying that last season, don't see a problem with his comments

4 new signings. How many did he sign last year, 4 was it? So he's signed 7, soon to be 8 players that would be first team players. People can't keep banging on the excuse 'it's not his team' because on the balance it is now. Will be interesting to see how he does this season.
He signed 4 last year, one of them (Zlatan) has gone now, and 2 so far this year. I think we'll be better this season, no doubt.

he hasn't signed 7 players, he has signed 6 in total, of which 1 currently does not - and may never have - a contract with the club.
so the current tally is 5, not 7, ie less than half a first team, and roughly 1/3 of the core squad.

He almost always needs one bedding in season
No one, least of all me will be making excuses for him this year.
As I was saying, if you look at match threads from last season, we were constantly to we needed a new CF, CM, CB and LW, although I thought we were well stocked at CB
Pogs, ibra, bailey, miki, lukaku, lindeloff. My bad, 6 and dont discount ibra as he wouldn't be first team if not injured so still counts. That makes over 50% his so far, adding another player or two and it will take it up further. So the excuse isn't really valid anymore.
This is why it will be interesting next season as the majority of the team will be his picks. I expect we will do well.
Ibra would be at another club by now if he wasn't injured imo.
