It'd be amazing to see Mourinho rock bottom out of 36 teams.

I'd love to be the one at the presser to ask him, "José, many people agree you're finished as an elite manager. What do you think, and what would you say to them?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he'd say ... "at least I was one"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His just punishment for crimes to football will be Alzheimer's.

that would be the ultimate put down... Like walking up to R9 nowadays and asking how he feels no longer being an elite striker.

Ronaldo retired in 2011 because he accepted he could no longer play at the elite level.

Mourinho's about a decade overdue.

yes they are both past their best, thats the point I was making.

If Ronaldo could still get the likes of Benfica to pay him millions then he would be there... just the same as Jose is.

It's laughable to suggest Ronaldo because there were no clubs willing to pay him millions.

Here's what he had to say upon announcing his retirement:

"The head wants to go on but the body can't take any more. I think of an action but I can't do it the way I want to. It's time to go."

In other words, he accepted he was past it.

true but your acting like he wouldnt have accepted it... he defo would have.

He couldnt stop eating too much the club doctors confirmed it. He tried to claim he had a thyroid condition but the club doctors publicly came out and said tha was not true. he claimed this at the beginning of the season and played on til the end. if he really accepted he was past it then he would have retired then.

like I said your mocking someone past their best for no longer being their best. shocker, people go past their peak and decline !!

Iván Zamorano (Real Madrid legend): "I wouldn’t sign Lamine Yamal. He’s a great player, but he doesn’t have the soul or the essence of Real Madrid. Madrid is a club of class and culture, and its players should reflect that."

"I never heard Messi say we stole anything, and he was the best in the world. A 17-year-old shouldn’t get noticed for talking; you prove yourself on the pitch."

"Barça needs to help Lamine Yamal find his path. Only then can he become more than just a good player and truly build a legacy."

"I’d choose Pedri instead. He’s humble, speaks when needed, and lets his football do the talking. That’s the real spirit of Madrid."

You're wrong, one of the club doctors at Corinthians confirmed Ronaldo had hypothyroidism and was undergoing treatment for it. He had first been diagnosed by the medical team at AC Milan four years earlier.

What the doctor refuted was Ronaldo's claim that he could not treat it with medication without returning positive dope tests.

The hypothyroidism itself may have been treatable, but apparently the corticosteroids and other medications he had to take for his recurrent injuries meant that he would gain weight much faster than he could lose it (as a reminder, he'd done his ACL for a third time in his final year at AC Milan).

It's a huge struggle to keep your weight in check when you're almost chronically having to take medications that favour weight gain, and being overweight also greatly increases the likelihood of suffering further injury if you need to compete at the professional level.

As things were, Ronaldo still performed respectably well during his final years, and still managed to keep a gpg ratio around 0.5 in his Corinthians spell.

It's ridiculous to think that a legend of the game wouldn't have been able to land himself a money-spinning contract if that had been his pursuit.

Sampdoria and Zaragoza are in deep sheet, rock bottom of Serie B and Segunda respectively.

Samp are 6 points off the pace for dodging relegation after 12 games, Zaragoza are 9 off after 13.
