Last season he got less playing time than the season before. Was always behind Kroos and Modric in the pecking order since he arrived at Real and didn't get enough playing time a player of his calibre deserves. With Modric not looking like declining any time soon I guess the only option Kovacic felt was to leave for more playing time. I hope the twitter post is a mistranslation but doubt it

Don't know about elsewhere, but Guti was massively overrated in Madrid.

That side is probably based on when Quique Setién was there.

He dumped them for Betis, who he took to 5th last season I think, while Las Palmas got relegated.

In terms of playing style, Betis would be the current equivalent to the Las Palmas team you're using.
