Sanchez will be a first team regular fairly quickly in my opinion!

I bloody well hope so, for 42 million knicker he should be facking gold plated and diamond encrusted.

Yeh but we do stupid things like bench our record signings. We did that with Lamela. A record signing must always be a starter otherwise why waste the money?

In his first season as a DM, Dier did well because he played a disciplined role, worked extremely hard defensively and kept things simple

Nowadays he thinks he's way better than he is, that's the impression I get. He demanded a midfield position, well then he has no right to kick up a fuss when he can't get into the team ahead of Dembele and Wanyama

He doesn't play at a fast enough tempo with or without the ball

Dier has pi5555ed me off some games, especially in the first few games of the season for us. He needs to start working hard again, putting him on the bench should do this, he will get his chance to play in games where we rotate.

Dier and Dele seem to get complacent about the fact they are first choice.

Eriksen is top class and looks as if he is going to get better and better, a big move to Barca in a season or two i think.

We need competition for places in them attacking mid slots

I can see Dier becoming the new scapegoat.

There is a problem for defensive midfielders as different coaches need different things.

If you look at Guardiola/ Xavi at Barça, they were classed as defensive midfielders but in reality, they were sitting playmakers and didn't know how to tackle. Out of possession, they had to have discipline to keep shape. Whereas Busquets is a more traditional sit, tackle and spoil defensive midfielder.

If you look at Chelsea, Makelele was the master at breaking up play. When he left, Chelsea struggled to replace him and went through players such as Ramires who just couldn't do it. Matic was a good spoiling player but unspectacular. With Kante, they have bought a much more dynamic defensive midfielder - a cross between Makelele and maybe Essien. But he is not a playmaker.

The problem Dier has is he lacks the ability that many midfielders have. When he is purely defensive, he is more than adequate but technically, he doesn't strike me as a great footballer, he seems limited.

In the premier league, there are some very good sitting players. Gueye is a monster as a tackler. Herrera's positioning and distribution is his main strength. Wanyama and Kante are solid all round players. Dier just doesn't compare - very limited imo.

Yes Dier looked clumsy last night and yes he needs to focus and put in a shift. I find it hard to believe he demanded anything from Poch as I think it is very clear you issue a demand at Spurs and the door will hit you on the arris on the way out. Bad enough to have Mancs all over him...

Such a generic post to anyone being criticised.
