MW’s inability to sort out this defensive mess will cost him his job at this rate, he just doesn’t seem to grasp the basics of defending.

Time to drop Worrall and Mills, they just aren't up to the job.

3-1 feels harsh

Yes, but they scored classic away side goals, and defended deep when we had the ball. We didn't deserve to lose, but Fulham did exactly what they needed to tonight. We could learn a thing or two from them.

You can't concede the goals we do and be credible.
Next manager please.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you Fawaz? Don't be silly. Changing manager's after 10 games would be idiotic and hasn't worked in the past
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No I'm not Fawaz. Shall we wait until after Christmas when we are in the crap before doing so. Come on the defence is useless and he can't see it.

We could learn a thing or two, the problem is we haven’t learnt anything defensively this season, at least Mills misses the next game,
If we lose the next two games, which is quite possible, I think MW will find it difficult to carry on. I personally don’t want MW to be sacked but results will determine his future, and currently they are not good enough.

That's just so incredibly short sighted though. It is goikg to take time to sort out the mess we're in. The defence is in big trouble but a lot of these same players were good defenders under Dougie so it is about the system. I trust the manager to get it right. Sacking him now would be ridiculous.

Not time to start a 'Warburton out!' chant. (Who would you replace him with?)

Didn't convert our pressure and chances into goals. Defence needs improving but if we keep on pushing and put the ball in the net more reliably we'll ease the pressure on the defence and the manager.

Don't change manager but Warburton needs to learn from Dougie and realise for all the nice play our defence is not good enough to cope with it and we are getting sliced open.

Sorry to have to say it but he needs to do what Dougie did( still don't know why we got rid of him) and we might have to lose some of the attractive football to tighten up as we really need to stop shipping in the goals. If we don't stop conceding so many goals soon then he won't survive.

Colin is showing again how you manage in this league

It has to be said that Colin does understand Championship football.

Tonight was the third game that Fulham have won so far.

A good start to tightening the defence, bring back Lichaj, play Mancienne with Hobbs and Traore (If fit), it may also be necessary to change Smith but not sure Henderson is the answer. Sheffield U and the Sheep will be extremely difficult games but it is essential we get something out of these games.

Well, that was a kick in the teeth! Some great play going forward but just lack enough people getting around Murphy to make things really happen. Experienced players like Mills and Bridcutt really needed to dig and take the game by the scruff but there were many warning signs that Fulham looked potent on the break.

I feel sorry for Smith. It can't have helped his confidence that Warburton was clearly looking for a new keeper and thought he had found a new one in Federici. His confidence would naturally take a knock and now Warburton has had to try and convince him he is his No. 1. Bad set of circumstance in such a key position in the team.

Henderson could possibly play Saturday but his issues will be around match fitness and sharpness after so long out.

I think we all knew deep down that we aren't out of the woods by a long way. The bad smell of the Al Hasawi era is taking a long time to lift. Warburton is asking a lot of the defensive side of things with the way he sets up too. He is sticking to his guns and is convinced he can get it working. I do admire him for that in a way, frustrating as the results are.

I'm ever the optimist and I feel if Forest roll with the punches now, they will feel the benefit down the line. It is still early in the season. I think Vaughan would be a huge lift if he can be declared fit for the Blades game. Forest desperate lack someone who can manage the game at the moment.

On the flip side, results are what Warburton will mainly be judged on. Marinakis has hired and fired pretty excessantly at Olympiakos so who knows what could happen? I like Warburton's philosophy and would love to see a Forest side playing total football but just hope that they can plug the leaks.

I think the growing chorus for Lichaj may start to become deafening. Warburton could sdo worse than give Freedman a ring and have a chat about how to set a defence up.

I'll be there again Saturday. This league is so crazy I even reckon Forest will win by a couple of goals!!

Great going forwards. Some of the play is the best I've seen us play in years. Defensively...awful.

1st was blatantly offside, but no one tracking him. Second, awful set-up for the free kick, but it was a beauty. Third Goal...I was barely watching. Same as against Villa, we had a chance at 1-1 and didn't take our chances. Then got punished.

Attacking wise we are improving game by game. Defensively, it's like the curvature of the earth, you'd have to be well high to even notice.

Fantastic in spells, but we have a very soft underbelly.

We are definitely missing a player that can score (Britt) he would be in double figures if he was still here. Very, very fine margins.
And to the idiot who says change manager . You are an idiot. No offence.

Okay; so we are stuck with plan A, which is a good plan when it works.

The defence has been poor since DF left and there are no signs of it improving.

That means we will have to score two goals at least to win a game. Apart from Murphy, who is going to score them. We don't have a midfielder able to get close to 10 goals (league); I think Bouch is second on the scorers chart (2) and he struggles to get in the team.

Last night our approach play from middle to attacking third was good, but the midfielders seem reluctant to get in the box. Even Brereton when he is wide right doesn't get there. Is this tactical from MW or is it the players just not willing?

Cummings huffed and puffed last night to little effect but I would like to see him given another go against Villa. I'd also start Carayol and Jamie Ward when he is fit.

I have noticed that too. When the ball is played out to the defence from Smith, everyone else drops deep too. Means Murphy is often isolated, especially when the ball is played into an attacking area.

posted on 27/9/17

Traore pit some good crosses into the box but if it doesn't go near Murphy, nobody else is gambling.

Osborn proves his worth once again, though. Motored around and helped Forest play at pace. He shouldn't be dropped again.
