I said I hoped Putin would not invade and that we should not go to war in Ukraine to fight Russians, after numerous other failed interventions, and that was appeasement, lol

I did not give the Putin side, but few if any are talking to ordinary Russians, many of whom oppose Putin, but their voices are not heard on western media.

There is now some anti-Rissian sentiment lumping all Russians in with Putin, but people in the Donbas and Russia have a story too that we rarely if ever hear.

I did not try to view the situation through Putin's lense.

Especially as I also linked in Russian far right racists and far right in America who have similar views , torchlight parades, marches, uniforms and symbols to their Ukraine Viking 88 mates.

It's funny I'm being lumped in re: clashes with TBAB etc.

I filtered the contrarian russian apologist 3 days ago, and have only mentioned him twice in that time.. both today.

Tries too hard to be a contrarian instead of having an opinion, and needs to have things explained to him repeatedly before he will listen.

That alone suggests he's highly receptive to misinformation campaigns (throw enough mud etc) as it's repetition that gets through to him.

I will generally not mind reading his posts, but on this subject, him and peks have been making pretty disgusting posts.

What has he said that is “disgusting”, do not paraphrase or straw man, use exact quotes. You have a tendency to add or remove parts of what people have said that completely change the meaning of their posts. You & Rosso both did the same a week or so ago and you did the same to me also.

Perhaps the direct quotes won’t be “disgusting”? Perhaps they will, we’ll find out.

I don’t think it’s a problem to discuss the possible motivations that Putin has. Kyiv for example has a strong cultural link for Russians (I’m no expert) I believe religion comes into it and it was a much bigger city than Moscow used to be.

Clearly Putin is a twisted man who is looking to be remembered in history. During his time the Russian approval rating for Stalin has risen to 70%, which is bonkers.

Anyway, I look forward to reading what TBAB specifically wrote which was disgusting. Peks is another guy and has some strange opinions but each to their own.

I doubt any of you think that TBAB supports Putin by any means so why pile in? Cheers comrade, a few posters will do the same to you or JS or NPE on occasion, twisting our words and demonizing us as bogeymen, like kids in school.

Guys such as HEC, insert, Sizzle, Arab, bb7, Fields, Redinthehead etc have been piling on for years, because they do not want other opinion on their threads, so every now and then they will target a poster to try to shut them down or undermine and smear them.

Both sides do this at times, but due to numbers it is often fairly one way traffic....anything conservative or unionist or not of a certain dogma or narrative is not allowed fair hearing, so we are told we do not listen or understand or we are far right etc etc.

It's a shame really, as we had moved forward lately, but old habits are returning from the usual subjects, who then claim to be right on progressives on the right and nice side of history

Executives, for me, yes, personally.

That said, I also had a friend who went to do contracting (non-technical) work for a UK company which provides guidance technology for weaponised drones.

She wasn’t short of work, and could have turned them down and found an alternative (possibly less well paid?) quite easily.

She was the first person in my life I actively ‘unfriended’.

You made a decent point in your reply to Peks on the danger of using quotes from people on social media claiming to be ordinary Russians, when they could be anyone.

Admin also pointed to these dangers last night and so I said I would end my posts about aszof Battallion far right in Ukraine, because that could and is being used by Putin and bots to cover an act of aggression and evil.

However, some posters keep this going today calling me an apologist for Russia and Putin and returning to the far right claims, agreeing with me on Russian far right, but not so keen on their Ukrainian brothers far right nationalist being highlighted?

Which I get, and 4za reinforced this to me, so I will no longer mention the far right in Ukraine, for the sake of admin, the thread and innocent people of Ukraine being murdered by the real far right natzi in the room, Putin.

I will ignore those trying to start this argument again.
