He’s an ex American football player, and it’s Georgia so probably is a religious nut

I know the jeans question was frivolous - but I do think it's fair to point out not all interview have to be conducted Paxman style. Sometimes it's actually more effective to lure people into saying something stupid in a relaxed chat, and sometimes it's ok for it to just be a chat provided something interesting is said.

Agree

He's an ex American football player who was drafted by Trump to his team in the short lived idiocy that was the USFL. He's got a fekin gay son (dunno how that fits with his Christian values) who complains about gas prices while wearing a $1300.00 givenchy hoody.

I thought it was obsolete by now. But a good number of EU states have some form of compulsory service.

Finland does. Because of who they are neighbouring 😐

I have a Greek friend who was born here his older brother was born in Greecebut came here when very young. When the older brother visited Greece in his 20s he was jailed for draft dodging. Even though he'd never received any notices and was unaware of his status in Greece as he was a Canadian citizen by that time.

Soo. Issued earlier. What's going on in the oil patch?
Prices tumbling. I saw a thing about Saudi Arabia dropping the Yankee dollar to sell more oil to China.
You think this may be connected to the softening of U.K. and U.S. attitude to Iran?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oil very volatile - prices weighed down by multiple geopolitical factors:
On supply side -
US-Iran talks
Russia-Ukraine talks
India considering buying discount Russian oil
On demand side -
Surging cases of Covid-19 across China
Incoming Fed interest rate hikes
Also some suggestion of 'demand destruction' when prices peaked at 139 per barrel last week - which is when prices get so high that demand is reduced by people looking for alternative energy sources - normally coal.
Oh and EU not joining in with UK/US sanctions.
Oil is less wonkish than usual - very heavily hit by geopolitical macrofactors right now.

China going into lockdown in places, impacting millions again as the so called Delta-Crom variant increases again.....FFS😰
The cameraman working for Fox News who was killed in Kyiv yesterday was from Ireland, and died along with a Fox colleague in Ukraine.
In other Ukraine news, Zelensky says peace talks with Russia are becoming more realistic?
Good news, we hope 🙏
Boris lining up Saudi energy deal as the west ditches reliance on russian oil and gas, but that is another dodgy state that sponsors Islamist terrorism, killed 81 people last week and involves itself in proxy war, such as Yemen.
Bit like Chelsea replacing Roman with a Saudi owner, imo?
It really is a dirty little world.

Boris landing in Saudi days Ukraine will not be joining Nato anytime soon.
An American outfit polled NATO Membership among Ukrainians, and joining was not popular, but Zelensky and Boris were popular in the same polling, apparently.
