How do you know the make-up of the audience? What evidence do you have about the political allegiance of any of those 100 audience members?

Baffles me why folk get so worked up about stuff that they have a choice about. Don't like the books, don't buy them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That kind of works both ways. If you don't like the edited versions don't buy then either. The originals will still be available.

Old Joe is in Kyiv this morning, 4 days before the 1 year anniversary of demented Vlads illegal invasion.

Evidence suggests parts of QT are biased -> pawl has no problem with these parts. -> pawl has no problem with bias towards his side. -> what pawl views as biased against his side, is actually balanced.

When a subject is being discussed and the government are getting a verbal kicking from the audience (regular occurrence) Bruce will ask if anybody will speak up for the Tories.

She's lucky if 3 hands go up.

Perhaps because not everyone who is a Tory feels the need to defend them no matter what they do?

I’d suggest it comes from, for him, that when biased chair (that Pawl doesn’t think is biased) Fiona Bruce asks for a show of hands on individual conservative policies, they get little support. He extrapolates that show of hands (which I don’t know if he pauses to count or not, but let’s assume he does) on an individual Tory policy to support or non support for a party.

So let me get this right. Evidence suggests the tories get massively more time to talk positively about their policies, than any other panel member. But what pawl wants is EVEN MORE TIME for audience members to repeat what the Tory panel member is saying? Again, I would suggest that it is a desire for bias towards his own views that is driving the unhappiness with QT.

That's desperate!
Nobody puts their hand up to defend your dishonoured and inept heroes so it's bias rather than public opinion turning against them.

As more questions are directed at the government minister on the panel than the other 4 panelists (which will always be the case) it doesn't strike me as odd that they get more air time.

The challenge for Bruce is to ensure that the others get a fair crack of the whip. I'm sure there are times that the Tory on the panel wishes they could get away with saying less.

I completely disagree. I think they would happily talk for the full time without there being the opportunity to be properly challenged on whatever they are saying. You see this same thing with interviews, politicians give monologues that would make Shakespeare cringe so there is insufficient time to challenge them on what they’re saying. It is a well known and established political tactic, so I do find it odd that you have not recognised it.

They boycotted R4 Today because they don't like being challenged.

OK we're not going to agree but that's all good I'm used to ploughing a lonely furrow on here.

Moving things on if Humza Yousaf (who talks at you rather than too you) gets the SNP leadership is that the best news that Labour have had from Scotland in a very long time?

He's not getting in.
I do think Sturgeon carried a percentage of the floating electorate, I don't know if the new leader continues carrying them just as I don't know if they'd jump to Labour.

Sunak holds back Northern Ireland protocol deal amid concerns from DUP

Predictable. If you want power sharing to resume in Northern Ireland then you're gonna need the DUP to support what you're proposing otherwise its a waste of time.

And it did seem with sturgeon she was identified early on as a future leader. I just don’t think Forbes is either experienced enough, or “modern” enough, despite her age, to be a credible leader. Humza and Rogan, less said the better.

The problem is in reconciling the EU’s (and international trade law’s) requirements, the GFA and DUP demands, and I don’t see how that can ever be done.

You cannot be outside the SM and CU and have zero checks in or out at one border or another. It just cannot be done.

I agree I'm failing to see how they resolve it. Northern Ireland have the best of both worlds at the moment so the people would probably be content if nothing xhanged from now

Junior doctors in England have voted in favour of taking strike action in their fight to get a pay rise of 26%.

Members of the British Medical Association are now expected to take part in a 72-hour walkout, possibly as early as mid March.

The union said the rise being asked for was to make up for pay cuts since 2008 once inflation is taken into account.

Real terms pay reduction by over a quarter is pretty shocking tbh.
