Highlights of year. Getting rid of SD @ £3M
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh dear.

£3m and nobody has a clue as to what new deal has been signed up to.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I liked this

'Contract will be ripped up

Erm no.- you paid hamdsomely.to get out of it.

I wonder how long it will take for the margin on retail to even make up for 3m cash loss.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This season, it has more or less paid itself back now

Great bit of business

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nae chance surely curly. And how would we know anyway until accounts released??
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It was stated at the AGM today

----------------------------------------------------------------------
So in 4 months 3m pure profit has been made on retail and advertising? When last year's turnover only increased by 7m in total??

By my (admittedly kerrydale calcs!) That would mean a retail and advertising turnover (at an unrealistically handsome 25% return) of 36m!

Or where am I getting it wrong?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well it all started when you logged on
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is just mean. Its.not.my fault Apple didn't invest!

Curly I see what they said. I cant square the maths - but if almost all.is.paid back in a year then you would be looking at a retail and advertising turnover of in the region of 9m - not quite the same as it having paid itself back already. And that's at 25%. A crazy.retail.margin. (I have no idea on advertising revenue which is why I'm making such a generous assumption.

That's assuming also you made no profit whatsoever with the Ashley deal?

What was celtic's retail last year? Ginger?

Operating expenses for merchandising were £7.8m suggesting a contribution of £4.8m which doesn’t necessarily translate into profit. You’d need detailed management accounts for that but even then merchandising profits are dependent upon many other facets and can’t be broken out with ease.

Well if the returns are that then maybe king is right - no idea what you are subtracting from Ashley led.turnover
