The boys in the academy are coming through fine thanks Eric, although some are getting a right kicking when they play. I am sure they are better than playing alongside a guy getting maybe half a million a week who they know is only there because his first choice didn't want him. Second choice for a second rate team, does that fit better than first loser?

No one cares about what the City fans start. There are only six of them.
How did the best team ever seen get on against Burnley today?
At least the pundits have stopped talking rubbish about City for a while. When will the tackle ban be lifted on their players? Yo-yo club who fell in a well. Small time forever.

I don't let them get away with free digs like you lot. I'm less kind.
I don't let them get away with anything, myself.
You need to learn how to WUM instead of whine.

Pep prefers nobody than taking one with the first team. He really is a great manager but he's also a bit wierd too. Is he expecting sympathy for not having all his first team fit after spending 450m?
In 2009 he famously said he couldn't understand the logic in spending millions when there's players in the academy. Very good of him to stick to his word.

It's a fine line that often is a bit hazy I will admit. But I do really fecking hate them berties so I don't really care.
He was talking about Barca's academy though. Didn't seem that fussed about it with Bayern and City.
Really do feel if United were anywhere near City in the PL and with a good chance of catching them, they probably wouldn't care half as much about their academy.

No irony just an outsider's viewpoint on things. You've managed to turn an article about United to a discussion about City's academy. Outdone yourself here.
United will always care about the academy. Even facking Mourinho has been playing some of them.
Everything about the game was routine.
The good players were routinely good, the average ones were routinely average, and the crap ones were ..........

Fitting today with it being 60th anniversary next week of Munich that we had Lingard, Pogba, Mctommo, Rashford on show.
First losers, suits them I think. Sign players who City reject but pay them so much it is unreal.

Yaya Toure joined City all those years ago because of his love for bday cake and Shawn Goater. Aguero did it for Kinkladze.
Utd will always be a huge attraction my bitter friend. City only are because of oil. Truth hurts.
United are only attractive because of money O Bitter One. They can always hope that players who City reject will go to United if money is more important than being First Loser.
Lingard looked dangerous in the first half and I though McTominay should have got us a penalty. Other than that we looked like we lacked cohesion in attack again. Did lukaku touch the ball in the first half?
Once he got the goal the game was over. What the goal shown was we need to be giving him more balls to attack.

I can think of a couple of players who came to United when City were offering more money. I can't think of any examples of the opposite happening.
Anyway, the fact is that City succeeded in throwing enough money at a middle-sized club, initially paying over market price for players, to eventually make it a genuinely strong team. Now there's a clear gap and players are joining City for glory as well as money, doesn't it seem rational for United (having larger revenue than City) to do exactly the same thing to attempt to catch up? I have to say, it rings hollow hearing City fans bemoaning United's vulgar investment policy in the light of very recent history, and while City continue to spend as if they think the oil is about to dry up.

Your first goalscorer cost more than our entire squad you absolute cretin. What did you expect us to do, throw everyone forward so your multi million pound midfield and attack could just score at will? Arrogant pr-ck

Somebody is upset.
Well if you've watched us recently you'd know that is exactly what you should have done as we're not exactly flying.
The most cowardly display iv ever seen. Feck off back to the championship where you belong.

Didn't see a Sanchez banner, just the "we'll never die' one.
Thought he had some good moments but I do wonder how he is going to fit into the system.
He's going to have to cut out the constant rolling around and throwing a paddy every 2 minutes, the OT crowd didn't seem to like that.
Missed the game. Did he line pogba up in a 2 again?
He dropped Pogba. Came on for 15 mins or so.
