i think it would do the world of good to have lennon as manager.
people would get to side with him on somethings, and lets be honest the ones that are going to despise his appointment are the ones that prefer to watch england anyway.
Scotland don’t deserve Walter
Walt is old hat for me. Best bet would be Clarke or Lennon

Yeah let's turn the clock back 20 years rather than move forward
------------------------------------------------------------
Who are your options for young successful Scottish managers?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why just scottish?
Mcinness, Ross, Clarke (not young but) are pretty good options.
Lennon and Wright could be decent options given they know the scottish game.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ross no chance.
McInnes unlikely to take it.
Clarke would be a good appointment.
Lennon nah.
Wright nah.
So Smith would be head and shoulders above the closest competitor in terms of experience and know how.
If he wants it, he gets it imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Might as well just ask Alex Ferguson if he wants it then
---------------------------------------------------------------------
If he wants it, i'm sure Walter could use an assistant

Walter is not the man for me, we should be looking forwards and not backwards
He will not take it anyway, he is enjoying life too much now to be put back in the limelight
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No he won't take it but I'd far rather him than whatever no mark non entity uninspired choice that we'll end up with.
So Rats, is Curly full of bitterness?
Or is it just the tims, when saying Walter would be a backwards choice?
Anyway, my thoughts is he would be simply a stop gap option and not someone to lay foundations for us to progress over the years.
Clarke is the outstanding candidate for me but Jack Ross, Derek McInness and Neil Lennon are all guys the SFA should be looking at.
far too early for ross imo, could be damaging if he gets it wrong.
clarke is a shout, though tbh i think lennon should be the outstanding candidate.

I don't think we can discount Ross just because he's not been managing for long mate, clearly got the tactical awareness to be a good manager and he has a young team playing good football.
i think he is a smashing manager tbh nnh, doing really well but its a heck of a jump.
lennon would be ideal, european experience at every level.
My worry for Lennon is it would divide the nation even further (rightly or wrongly) but perhaps someone like McCoist as his assistant would be good enough to bring the bigots on board.
Just the usual blether. Walter's retired.
but perhaps someone like McCoist as his assistant would be good enough to bring the bigots on board.

agreed but see tbh, the ones that will hate it the most as the ones that probably support england anyway.
You dont give the Scotland job to a guy after one good season.
John Collins is a good coach
John hughes is a goid man for the role plays good football too
Alex Neil is a young nanager with a good record too

i'd be fine with walter smith, but lets not pretend he wasnt in charge of rangers when they had die hard bigot bastirts in their team who loved nothing more than a good billy boys knees up.
now i'm fine with that, he's a good manager.
rangers fans cant get over lennon?
