For me that should be 1st on the checklist so he shouldn't even be considered.

your absolutely right we should get a scottish guy in, like strachan, or burley, or levein.
cause they worked really well.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
More examples of good Scottish managers of Scotland than the good foreign managers.
Like the players need to be Scottish so should the managers in the international game, quite ridiculous that isnt a rule.

Brendan?
Smith would be a brilliant appointment
As would Lennon or MacLeish
However what does concern me about Walter is if you remove the Letter M out his surname

i'd be fine with Smith but assuming he is retired then i think Lennon is the way to go.
i dont get the baggage thing, half that baggage is in response to bawbags hating him for little reason.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Little reason ? If you think this is little reason to dislike him then more fool you 👍

What decent person would even contemplate some of that ? It’s disgusting behaviour and not befitting of a potential Scotland manager
So people don’t hate him for little reason. I actually think he’s make a very good Scotland manager with his footballing philosophy. But he DOES carry a lot of baggage. It’s undeniable and it will probable cost him the opportunity
If Walter has any interest in coming back to a dugout then I'd hope to fook we are sounding him out. Murty's done alright but under him we're going to be inconsistent as hell.
Much rather Walter was with us than that shower of scheidt.

We need someone that the whole country would get behind and support
Lennon is as far removed from that as you can get
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spot on
As much as he is an astute manager , he has issues and people have issues with him
Thinking about it for that reason i would need to swivel on my earlier thoughts and say he wouldn't by a good choice , although from a football perspective he would be
Just not someone who unites the country is he ?

I get your point. But Gazza’s not and never will be looking for a high profile managerial role.
Look at the Sh!t Phil Neville got over a couple of nonsense tweet from 6 years ago when just taking on the bloody women’s England managers job !
Your under the microscope big time and need to conduct yourself properly at all times
Don’t get me wrong, contrary to popular opinion, I actually quite like Lennon ! He’s a full throttle manager that is as much of a fan as he is a manager. And that comes out in his outbursts. We can all see a bit of Lennon in ourselves because we all shout like that when watching our team and lose the rag at decisions and things against us
But you have to be able to rise above that in the top job or else you won’t last very long.
I’d prefer him getting that ham say McLeish. He’s had his chance and I think Lennon’s brand of football is better. I just don’t see it happening
Give it Barry
Done a fantastic job keeping Blackpool in the Championship a while back then lead Clyde to the play-offs.
He's now ready for the big time.

plenty behind closed doors for most tbh, the last successful manager to get us there was craig brown and he had his share of schite
i think Lennons appointment would help bridge the gap tbh, with a rangers no.2 its a huge step.
not everyone will get behind it, but some will.
will be like souness signing johnstone, blows the whole arguement wide open.
Single handled offered a hammer blow to sectarianism, he should get a knighthood for the baws that took.
