Keogh did get hold of Palmer who was busy celebrating the equaliser against Leeds instead of running back to get in position tor the restart so we might nick a winner.
We have plenty of leaders on the pitch. That’s not the issue. It’s individual errors that are costing points.
Re the attendances I think Rameses knows. The core support doesn’t waver although it does contain a healthy proportion of arms-folded whingers. The missing three or four thousand comprises probably ten to twenty thousand individuals who might go every now and then, more often if they think they might be able to be a part of a glorious season. They probably feel they’ve been led down the garden path a few times and have lost their appetite for the emotional and financial outlay. If you’ve not challenged for years and have a good season it’s all new, optimistic and exciting. For us it’s more a case of here we go again. Fans don’t want to commit only to get their heart broken once more.
Still a bit surprising though. Do any on here know people, or maybe ARE people, who go occasionally but who have done so less this season? What are their reasons?
Unless? Peeder, he was already instructed to get the players to change tactics in certain circumstances. Communication from manager to players seem remarkably hit or miss to me.
Re: Attendances, at a recent fans forum MM mentioned gates had been artificially (or accidentally) increased for several recent seasons by @ 1900 per game.
Don't ask me why?
PS Cardiff get the winner in 88th minute. We’re 7 points behind 2nd...
I think the drop in attendances even including the 1900 added is down to the price of a match ticket at Pride Park. We moan we are charged stupid amounts at away games but I think Derby charge too much at Pride Park

Bit of spin from Mel I think, to reaasure the manager, perhaps. You don't have to look far to see the empty seats at the moment, though, and tickets are easily available for every home game. Wonder how the £10 'fun day' will go down ?
Perhaps recent results will re-adjust expectations and we can concentrate on supporting the team to reach the realistic aim of the playoffs ?
'Still a bit surprising though. Do any on here know people, or maybe ARE people, who go occasionally but who have done so less this season? What are their reasons?'
Seems like I should pick that one up, Vidal.
The main reason I have not been to many home games this season is personal, as my son now works at weekends, so a 300+ mile round trip is less feasible and less enjoyable.
But there are other reasons, such as finance, as Griff says. Ticket prices for the games I want to attend have often been priced at over £30 and often our trip can often involve a stop-over, if the kick off has been moved from 3pm on a Saturday.
The game I came to earlier in the season was the Forest game. I knew that there would be a good atmosphere, because we would all be 'at one' to beat the dogs. I really don't think I want to commit 3 figure sums to games where the atmosphere is flat, or worse, as to me, that is a one of the main reasons to attend.
It has nothing to do with the current style of football, because I'd rather see that, than a game of fruitless possession & sideways passes.
Me and my lad didn’t renew this season, not sure I would be able to make it from Bahrain every week.
Well I've been offered tickets in a corporate box at Anfield therefore I will be most disappointed if we don't go up.
................... but then again I don't suppose it matters who the opposition is if I'm pi55ed?

I think the 1900 added to attendances is boIlocks by the way. I’m sure many of you guesstimate attendances and it’s clear they are lower. I generally am within 1000 so if they are being massaged by Mel then my guessing has been massaged too and I am not aware of being brainwashed at this time.

I did hear on good authority that they used include ALL season ticket holders on the attendance figure irrespective of whether they turned up or not.
If you take 5% of ST holders not turning up through illness, shift work, commitments etc that is up to 1200/1300 empty seats.
Apparently they don't do it now.
The Master plan to clone 5,000 Igors a year will sort out any gaps and improve the atmosphere
Sounds plausible. I’m sure it’s always been based on tickets sold. Therefore inc ST’s whether they are there or not.
How they keep tabs on how many people are in the hospitality lounges I’ll never know.

Attendances, we all know about 3000 seats reserved for visitors and the ground holds just under 33,000 so it is fairly easy to estimate the attendance from the empty seats. Like View I am usually within 500 with my guesstimates. In previous seasons there have always been large gaps in the West stand, north end upper but this season I have noticed big gaps in the North Stand lower and East stand, north end lower.
As all ticket bar codes are read on entry then it is easy for the club to know how many people are in the ground. In fact I never see why they have to wait until well in to the second half before they announce it.
True, Spart. Although it was my point re: the hospitality area which was my query. Having been in there many times with no ticket, just my name and the name of my host. Half the people don’t turn up as they’re not DCFC fans and, invariably, something came up last minute...
Indeed Spart. With the current trend of fans leaving when their side isn't winning, it could be several thousand down by the time they announce it.
I usually get within 300 for my attendance estimate.
