Does seem that a focus of the concern around the working with Mendes is partly about our stake in his company and partly as to how we have attracted these players to Molineux and not pay them high wages.
Whether Wolves having part ownership of Gestitute contravenes any rules I don’t know but I suspect it might prompt the FA to wonder if they should create some. There will be a concern if Mendes picks and chooses which of his clients come to Wolves and which go elsewhere.
As for the wages of our players I don’t think that can be a regulation issue unless we are making other illegal payments to the players via Mendes. If that were the case then that could be big trouble
The snow missed the West Midlands last night but sleeting now and there could be snow during the game. No threat to the match but it’s a very cold wind and the thermals are needed
See Burton now have Darren Bent up front. Similar player to Afobe in many ways but I suspect we will create a lot more chances than Burton will for our goal hanger
I don't really have any doubt we are bending/manipulating a few rules
the same point I've made elsewhere too DJ
the wages thing is a stupid argument in itself - saying wolves should pay players MORE whilst at the same time questioning our FFP position. but the insinuation is that we're doing something underhand in the way we account for payments. that would be a problem if it were true, but i doubt that it is. mendes has been in the football finance world long enough to know that there's usually a much simpler way to broker a deal and that 'clever' accounting usually comes unstuck.
all we have to do is say to neves "you'll play most weeks in an exciting team, for £20,000 per week, and get a fat bonus if we win promotion, as well as a much improved contract and the chance to attract a top four team if yr good enough". that sounds like an attractive offer to a player at porto, who are only ever going to reach a certain level.

that's right and DJ's point is that the EPL might decide they want to create some rules...but you can't take action retrospectively against wolves.
but yes, it's an important distinction. WW (1990) Ltd has no stake in gestifute and gestifute has no stake in our club. FOSUN own us, and a share in gestifute, but can easily show separation in decision making and control.
Agree with that gb and that’s probably how the arrangement has worked. I have faith that the club and the owners are not naive on these matters and we will be shown to be complying with whatever the rules are
hard to see that it's anything other than fear of a new rival with a wallet to match or exceed theirs

Snowing pretty heavily on the south coast. Ref is doing a pitch inspection here at 12.30 for our game that kicks off at 14:30.
Snowing in Tettenhall, but not really causing any doubts as to the match and thread going ahead

along with your thoughts that wolves are fiddling the books ?
Actually Fosun do not have any shares in Gestifute. The stake in Gestifute is owned by a subsidiary company which in turn is owned by Fosun.
Just semantics I know but ultimately it may make a difference when Fosun are under the spotlight.

Who said they are fiddling the books?
I don't think we are actually breaking any rules directly but I do think we are skipping through a few holes.
End of the day a championship club is signing several players from clubs far higher up the ladder and the simple reason for that is Jorge Mendes, if it were any other clubs other than ares we would all be asking the same questions.

They need to get shares in Samaritans. Thats who most of their fans are talking to these days.
Fulham ahead and in 3rd at the moment
Halfy, you've missed the early kick offs and you know who's watching and having a chuckle.
What Fulham are doing is very similar to last year where they were unstoppable for a good spell but that time they fell in the play offs surprisingly.
