I'd be more interested in a Midnight Sons team taking on supernatural threats and expanding that side of the MCU more.
The DCEU under the old regime still had some decent box office numbers.
WW =800m
Suicide squad =700m
Aquaman =1.1B
Shazam =366m
Black Adams failure is probably a combination of the lack of faith in DC movies and the movie not being of a good enough quality.

Midnight sons would be nice to see but not under Disney. The darker nature and tone of the team would be perfect for an R rated movie.

My hope is they'll start embracing R-ratings, particularly with Deadpool 3 confirmed to keep the R rating and with Blade on the horizon.
Sometimes hope is all we have.
Also Midnight Sons would be a great way to introduce Morbius to the MCU.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Audience reviews for the movie have been largely very positive. That hasn't translated to bums on seats because audiences don't have the same faith in the DC product that they do with Marvel. Especially when it comes to virtually unknown characters like Black Adam.
Case in point being Thor 4 which most people don't like but which made about 750 million worldwide. That box office had everything to do with it being an MCU movie and the character of Thor having a big following.
Let's assume for a second that Black Adam is a Marvel character. If this same movie was released as an MCU movie it would have done way better at the box office I'm sure.

I think it did very well overseas, must have done to make a bill. And in fairness it's something quite different being an underwater movie for big parts. It's very well shot and cinematic, James Wan deserves a lot of credit.
Presumably that audiences flocked to see an under water movie bodes well for Avatar 2: In the water or whatever it's called lol

I'm talking about the people who've seen the movie. Audience reviews have been largely positive. Obviously there's a big chunk of
the movie going public who have decided against going to see it. And some of the reasons which we've already been discussing.
It's an issue that the new regime at Warner will need to rectify and address to get the movie going public back on side. As a busines they obviously need more big hits like Joker and Aquaman and much less underperforming movies across the DC slate as has been happening for too long.

The general worldwide audience is the reason Black Adams barely breaking even. This whole idea of audience reviews being positive is false. The numbers do not lie.
The general audience don't care about who the new or old regime is. They care about watching good entertaining movies that they can then praise and suggest to their friends ans family. Black Adam doesn't seem to be one of those movies.

So you're saying that general audience reviews from those that have seen the movie are largely negative. Can you show me where you're getting this info ?
I'm basing it on the biggest online review sites across the web like IMDB and Google reviews. It gets an average 7/10 on IMDb from 118,000 votes and an average 4.4/5 on Google from 9000 votes. And 7.5/10 on Metacritic.
I never said they were negative.
But they certainly aren't largely positive,which is what you claimed.

Yep, and if we are going on about regimes, it is the Snyderverse and the crappery of first Suicide Squad that toxified the brand

The DCEU under the old regime still had some decent box office numbers.
WW =800m
Suicide squad =700m
Aquaman =1.1B
Shazam =366m
Black Adams failure is probably a combination of the lack of faith in DC movies and the movie not being of a good enough quality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Most of the people I have spoken to about Black Adam have said it's a good action movie but nothing more. I wouldn't say that's largely positive. I am also assuming the word of mouth wouldn't have been positive enough, to get people to the cinema.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As good as it is to know what a few people you've chatted to about it thought, I'm talking about the general worldwide audience.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The general worldwide audience is the reason Black Adams barely breaking even.
