Rumours also say Gerrard will look to sign 3 or 4 centre backs this summer.

That kind of suggests both Cardoso and Alves are for the off.

I have said on a few of the ins and outs articles we need 4 CB's.

Would have been happy if we had kept Wilson and bates as back up and bring in 2 starters but we let them go very easy.

Rangers didn't 'slate' Hartson. They just didn't sign him because he failed a medical.

As much as £3.5m is not a lot for an EPL team I am still taking that fee with a pinch of salt.

We went in at £1.5m for him and now it is up at £3.5m.

I would imagine that would be the maximum fee payable based on addons like winning the league, qualifying for the CL etc.

I think Cardoso has a decent player in there, i wouldn't be against holding onto Alves and Cardoso tbh.

I was excited about cardoso last year and hoped he’d be the defender we were looking for but after that defending against dembele for celtics second in the 3-2 game I can’t tsle him seriously

Wasn't he chucked on in that game? he was stinking but so were they all.

Him and Alves as a pair were as good as any pairing we had together last season imo

I think Cardoso had some odd treatment. Started all the games more or less until the injury. Then barely played and chucked in v Celtic and didn't cover himself in glory.

I'd be ok giving him another chance but if a club offers decent money i'd let him move on

I questioned it myself, I just did it in a more dignified manner without the pash . We will agree to disagree
