Must have woken up this morning and thought you know what i'd like to do, start an unwinnable battle.

i dont see the comparison with celtic tbh

we are self sufficient and for years suffered in europe due to the appalling performances of the other teams in scotland.

we are a well run club who recieve no special treatment in europe.

its not our fault we have more fans so sell more merchandise, have a bigger stadium etc.

maybe if other teams in scotland filled their stadium regularly and bought more merchanise their club would have more money?

instead of just turning up for "the family final"

the prosecution rests

I've not read the article yet, will give a read later on.

Not sure what it has to do with Celtic mind you if it's about imbalance.

Celtic earn every penny legally and have a huge fan base that funds our clubs ambitions.

Speaking of which, remember there was an article ages ago, I actually think it might have been Mick who said the gate receipts should be shared equally at every game

i think its poor that the "big leagues" can have a team in third or fourth get a spot in the groups.

thats crap.

I don't think Celtic are the real targets of hoarding money by ceferin although in scotland they are the big earners.

But he's going down a road that likely sees biggest leagues tell uefa theyll make their own tournament.

Nobody is suggesting any of the clubs earn money illegally.

What Cefarin is articulating is that prize money is hugely imbalanced and that the structure of the game at the moment does nothing but support the big clubs in getting even bigger, and, for the sake of competitiveness, this needs to change.

Definitely worth a read chaps - I'd suggest reading it before making your response, and then you can outline in what way you disagree with Mr Cefarin.

He would need the big clubs support to change anything and the status quo works for them so he can come up with whatever proposal he wants but unless is benefits the big clubs don't expect it to get anywhere

i'm all for a level playing field, i dont like the amount of teams that dont win their league and are gifted a space in the groups, its absurd.

I’ve no problem with the big euro clubs getting a bother get slice of the money. It’s them that generate it

It doesn’t make for great euro competition but it is what it is. Money rules the world

Until there is a European league structure this will forever be an issue, even after that it still will be but not to the same extent.

Also can't say i'm particularly keen on European leagues.

i think other teams having more money will create better competition and a bit of variety.

Good. Celtic can spread out the 40 million to the rest of the Scottish teams. What’s that you say...

i dont know why anyone would share money with clubs who arent in the same competition tbh, thats just daft.

however, i wouldnt be adverse to a team stepping up in scotland to challenge celtic.

unfortunately these days it seems the only way to do that is when some mad billionaire comes in.

celtic earn their spot in europe by playing qualifiers, 4 this year ffs

posted on 6/6/18

So Celtic fans want bigger teams to share their money to wee teams like Celtic for better competition but Celtic fans don’t want to share their money with wee teams to create better competition

Hhhhmmm

So you agree that you should share money with the teams that are in the same competition?

Great.

I'm really impressed by your maturity in quickly changing your mind from your original response to this thread. I think we can all learn a lesson from JFK here chaps. A role model for us all.

no

i want the structure of the champions league to change, i want it to be easier for champions to get to the groups and more difficult for the others.

Celtic could have all the money in the world, they'd still be penny pinchers.

First thing he should do is stop the big clubs buying all the promising youngsters then farming them out on loan to be developed by other clubs. Limit squad sizes.

technically, as much as we could dish out in Scottish premiership prize money is as much as the rest of you get when we do well in europe.

celtic sell out their stadium, sell lots of merchandise and balance the books, but we can't get ahead.

tbh i'll start listening to the complaints from other teams in scotland (outside rangers) when their fans start putting into their club.
