Given that a year ago, I would have paid to get rid of Boyshyta, any form of transfer fee for this is great business 👍

I think BR messed up the Boyata deal.

When Fulham offered £9m he publicly said that "we can't sell him".

Can you imagine the reaction if the offer had then been accepted?

Now we will be lucky to get half that.

BR was either blaying brinkmanship with the board or he completely misread Boyata's mood.

Although this come as a surprise to none of you

I'm not entirely blaming Boyata here

yes he's sold us a bad yin by refusing to play but some stuff has went behind the scenes that we will never know about

he seems to have been caught in between a manager v board battle

Make him rot in the reserves. After all we've done for him he deserves that.

No I think it is him and his agent

Reportedly turning down a fee for him would have been viewed as we need him for the CL more than getting £9M for an improving player.

Him and his agent clearly thought they were big shots and are forcing Celtic into accepting a bid by refusing to play.

I said from early doors something isn't right. He played 3 group games in the World Cup. Last game was around the start of July. Look at the players in the Community Shield that had actually played in the World Cup semi finals.

He didn't need rest he was clearly expecting to be signed because he played in the World Cup

he's a professional footballer being paid thousands of pounds a week, his job is to play for celtic and he should do that.

Any team that has a player like this has to get rid for best possible price asap....be surprised if not around £5m or £6m at most now! Still a result

If he is refusing to play, he is in breach of contract. There should be some kind of recourse for clubs in this situation. Unfortunately, all the power is with the players.

The guys our best centre half, Rodgers said he's never once been a disruptive influence, we receive a £9m bid for a guy who hasn't even entertained the idea of a new contract and we reject it.

Now I'll be honest I'm pretty sure he's been promised a move and the club have went back on their word for one reason or another probably because of the dire window we've had we cant seem to be letting anymore of our biggest players go

this then is when I have a problem with the player, you are under contract and you need to play when called upon and fit. He's obviously fit I mean if Dembele can come on and put in the shift he did 30-40% fit then he can

Its unforgivable

the fact that yet another player/manager dispute has been played out publicly again under Rodgers doesn't sit to well with me either

why would we promise him a move if we are trying to get him to sign a new contract?

i dont think any promises have been made in the slightest, i think he would be allowed to leave if they were, i think these assurances were made to armstrong last year tbh and he got his move.

his agent turned up at CP the day before a match when we were training demanding to speak to the manager, who the f... does he think he is?

he can gtf quite frankly, he got ragdolled off morelos and we need better than that.

"behind the scenes that we will never know about"

I'm sure in the case of most transfer deals with is the case

"I'm pretty sure he's been promised a move and the club have went back on their word "

I'm fairly confident that he had been promised a move away by what I've been told

"the fact that yet another player/manager dispute "

Dembele in Dec/Jan, Boyata now

On this article I created re transfers from a Celtic podcast (most are correct so far btw) He did want to leave then had a change of heart. After the world cup his agent is pushing for him to get a move, i reckon he spat the dummy as his move to the cash rich EPL never happened
