About time they just called it a flat out no alcohol in your system.

ive driven over the limit once, we probably all have... but even when i was doing it i was thinking im being so stupid here.... was in control of my actions so wasn't scared of crashing, was more worried about how it could seriously affect my life if i was caught.

would be interested to know how over the limit he was
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The problem is the drink drive limit is just an arbitrary number with no real evidence base. It's 0.8mg/ml here yet 0.5mg/ml in France for example, and different in many other parts of the world. And then of course different people have different tolerances to alcohol. Really it should be a flat law of zero alcohol when driving to eliminate any confusion for punters and loopholes in the law ie refusing a breathalyser in the hope your blood alcohol level has dropped by the time a blood test is done. Having an arbitrary volume just causes unnecessary confusion and administration.

They've done that in Scotland and tbf who can fault them.

Whenever people go on about Drink Driving it always reminds me of that Lee Mack sketch about Drink, Driving (Juggling).

You could say 30mph is an arbitrary number but thems the rules. Stick to them. You can buy home testing kits. You are responsible for your own actions.

If in doubt (and you're a fecking millionaire footballer) get a cab!

Got to love the outrage. Can every person on this forum put their hand on their heart and say they've never driven after a couple of pints? Or handled stolen good? Or ever used their mobile while driving? Or taken an illegal drug? Or fiddled an insurance claim or expenses claim etc.? Or got into a fight on a night out? We all do it to some degree or other, some more than others, yet when a footballer does it everybody is quick to judge and gasp in horror.

If Hugo had 3 pints then thought "fack it I'm fine it's only ten minutes home, don't wanna leave the Lambo here" then I don't really have an issue with that, we've all done it and he's just been unlucky. Obviously if he was steaming drunk falling over then that's a bit different.

And if he’d killed a child?

I wonder if this will be swept under the carpet and forgotten about at the click of some fingers, like when Firmino was drunk at the wheel

It`s as bad as Ferguson speeding down the hard shoulder to cheat the traffic, and then later claiming he had the sharts.

Acey Cray is a bad man though, goes to the shop, pinches a Toblerone which he should have purchased with his fiddled expenses. Drives home having consumed 4.5 units of alcohol doing 30 in a 20 like a gangster

wouldnt mind if Hugo wasnt captain, Toby captain and new contract

Kane is inevitable new captain anyway. If Hugo is stripped of the captaincy it would signal the end of his Spurs career too and we will need a suitable replacement lined up asap.

If the captaincy isn't given to Trippier I'm going to go nuts.

Been thinking about this - Lloris was pulled over by the Old Bill at 2.20am after being out for a meal.

What time does a meal normally start - between 7pm - 9pm. This gives me a bad feeling that he was on the sauce for several hours.
