Would rather a defeat came in the cup than the league, but home draw v lower league opposition should have been bread and butter for us.

I'm sure Bielsa will have learnt a lot from that, more so than the Norwich game actually, don't make so many changes, don't get short changed by owners and push for quality re-inforcements.

i agree also with the smaller squad. having players kicking around all season not playing is no good.
lower wages and keep a smaller squad a happier unit.
However i still think we are a couple short.
Not endeared to Shaughnessy yet as a player to depend on a lot on players like Roberts and Harrison who remember are only 19 and 21 with barely any games in senior english football.

We sounded worse in the second half than the first, lots of huff and puff but no chances made. Baker, Saiz, Alioski, Phillips, Klich, Jannson, Bamford and Harrison are all first team players, admittedly some play more of a role than others, to say this is our second team is wrong.

Els, it certainly started as our second team, I'd have rather have had more first team starters starting, win the match then rest them (thats the theory anyway).

The worry was how impotent we sounded, we played against 10 men for an hour and I struggle to think of any real clear cut chances we created.

Am still not convinced when we go behind, that we will pull it back.

Yes we did it against Swansea, but our second goal came from three huge mistakes in the same move.

I agree Kebablegs, sadly me and thee are probably the only folks on here who remember Paul Madeley. Played every position for Leeds except goalkeeper.

Bielsa post match:
too slow playing from the back
normally need 3 chances to score 1 tonight we had 12
crossing wasn't good
usually we have the responses to the problems we find, but not today

Find it difficult to care about this cup when you play a second string team, but should have put a few chances away tonight.

Think there’s plenty of us who remember the rolls Royce.

Disappointing today. We’ve played well in most games though maybe not as well as the score lines suggest... we’ve taken our chances, opponents haven’t. Today was the opposite. Hey much rather it was today than Friday, but would always rather be winning.
