...........

Created more chances.

You have raised a lot of points but I feel Matic is vastly underrated by our fans. We are absolutely crap without him. Brighton would not have happened if he was playing. He has his moments but he is probably our most important player along with De Gea.

We have been a lot better. The football is actually watchable.

Groot is only useful for aerial situations. When the ball is on the deck it is embarrassing to watch him. Matic is only effective as the DM in the midfield 3.

Given Shaw's resurgence, I hope he makes more darting runs down the left to make some space for Sanchez, Martial and Rashford, who all like to cut in. Time will tell with that. With Young the space gets crowded or he lacks end product on his left foot.

I think Lingard should be an option for our midfield 3. Although, we have still have gaping hole on our RW.

fellaini- been decent the last few weeks, will never be a fav with a lot but when he does a decent job like he has been doing then fair play

matic- looks like hes close to being finished, never the quickest but loses the ball way too easily now, kinda stuck between not being good enough to shield the back four and not being good enough to link our attack in any way

pogba-at times his passing is ridiculous but as the game goes on his influence tends to wain more and more where it gets to the point where it looks like he could be felled by a strong wind

sanchez- is trying incredibly hard but for whatever reason its not working at the moment, still can pick a decent pass but the guy just doesn't seem to be on the same wavelengths as the others

lingard, a lot of hustle and bustle, you will generally get very similar performances from him, good runs, movement, hopefully he starts picking up the goals coring

lukaku- so important for us atm, pretty much scoring all of our open play goals, shudder to think if he gets injured

Really. You must have missed the Huddersfield game last season then. And the same fixture with Brighton last season.

VC

It's being grumpy that keeps you going pal.

However I wholeheartedly agree with you. It's been a little bit better but we're not fooling anyone. This season isn't going to be a successful one is it? So much more needed to rival City n Scousers this year.

It is fooling some of our fans I think. It is certainly fooling the idiot pundits.

I still think this team under Jose is going to struggle to make top four.

How was the performance v Watford?

Good win based on how they have started and they beat spurs.

City L'pool and Chelsea are nailed on top 4 imo this season.

Leaves one more out of United Spurs and Arsenal probably.

Lt's face it, we are light years away from actually winning the PL or progressing deep in the CL, so If the realistic Holy Grail for Jose's United is a top 4 finish and a run in the Cup (yes, we are the new Arsenal) then I would prefer we finished 3rd in our CL group and gave the Ropey another bash. We could (along with Chelsea) actually realistically win that.

Anything can happen in the CL though. Do I think we can win it? No but worse teams than us have. We’ve won the Europa once I’ve no real desire to see us do so again.

1st half they didn't get a sniff really, totally dominated should have been 3-0 up, 2nd half completely different game, not pushing home the advantage, allowing them on to us and so sloppy on the counter

Midfield- Groot, Matic and Pogba.

A £150m midfield right there

Pogba. He has the talent, and unlike the other two he does have a second gear. He just keeps choosing not to use it. Time and time again on Saturday he lost possession and slowed down some of our counter attacks.

————————-

He was picked out by most pundits as having a very good game, even the supporters on the United fan channels thought the same.

He had a good game and created a lot, he lost the ball a few time trying things which is ok as long as it’s not as many times as Sanchez.

I would have given him a 6 out of 10. No more than that.

pogba was good 1st half, dnt see how anyone can say he was good 2nd half, lost the ball countless times when we were in good positions just flopping to the floor looking for a free kick

It was definitely a game of two halves for Pogba as it was for the whole team really.

We can definitely make top 4 because Arsenal n Spurs are just as crap. Also think Chelsea will fall away a bit. Only two I can see with title credentials are the two clubs we hate the most. What a time to be alive eh?

Oh, we can make it, but it will be a struggle.

Groot has done well, but it has had nothing to do with his midfield play. He has basically had success playing as a third CB.
-------------------------
Ludicrous post... He played the DM role to perfection really, hence the MOTM deserved award. He broke up play, won plenty of balls then moved the ball forward with simple, but effective passes and then pushed into the midfield and even final third, exactly what a midfielder should be doing. He even played in a couple of very nice over the top passes, like the one Martial latched onto. Even when we were under the kosh, the idea that he was in some kind of 3 man defence just isn't the slightest bit true, he was clearly in the DM role.
