History is written by the winners, England and then Britain have an appalling list of shame.

Scotland
Wales
Ireland
Americas
Australia
New Zealand
India
South Africa
Palestine

Just a few of the many places that have seen atrocities in the name of Empire and its still ongoing today.

Love this Scottish patter.

Anything Britain does Scotland are somehow not guilty off.

Massively involved in slavery for a start. Wee man syndrome

I don't think anyone is suggesting Scotland weren't involved.. especially given that we were almost always on the frontline.

I think you're misreading that. Scotland couldn't have invaded Scotland. That's why it's England's then Britain.

For most of the time during the Union, Scotland may well have been minor partners, but we have been very active partners in the wars and colonialism that Britain has imposed around the world. For many of the fodder, it was a good way out of poverty.

Aye the suggestion being that England crapped on Scotland and Wales, which is true.

I think he could’ve been more clearer by separating before and after the Act of Union with his list

Yep.. Highland regiments were always on the frontline.

It was a choice of join the army, or jump on a ship to the colonies due to abject poverty up here.

Scotland were no angels when it came to Ireland.

Edward Bruce (Robert’s wee brother) campaigned there to attack the English on another front.. didn’t stop him butchering Irish, burning and pillaging the land etc.

But England have always had a nose in other folk’s business.

Just watched They Shall Not Grow Old.

They should show that film in schools, to show the true futility of war.

Stunning piece of film.
