----------------------------
Have you actually read that story?
It goes on about how he drove a different car to training every day, owns a 500k Bentley, has a swimming pool at his home and played poorly at Euro 2016. The suggestion being that his poor form in the Euros is down to all the money he has - perhaps he is just too flash? None of which has anything to do with him shopping at Poundland. So they have turned a story about him shopping at Piundland into a negative story about how much money he has/spends/how flash he is and then hinted at the fact that this might be the reason he doesn't/didn't perform for England. How can you not see how they have spun the story in an attempt to make him look bad?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Suggestion that his poor form was down to his lavish lifestyle. Hahaha you have just completely made that up.
It says he was lambasted for his poor showing at the Euros. He was lambasted and he was poor. Love the way some of you twist stories in your own brain
---------------------------------
Yes, he was poor. But notice that they sandwiched the fact in a sentence about how he drive a different car into training every day:
"In November it was revealed that Sterling - who was lambasted for his poor showing at Euro 2016 - had brought a different car to training every day one week."
The fact that he played poorly in the Euros and drive a different car into training every day are totally unrelated. But the tabloids use this approach to suggest that there is some correlation between the two. It is a subtle suggestion that Sterling played poorly because has too much money/is too interested in material things. Unfortunately, people like you don't have the brain capacity to realise that they are being manipulated by the press.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again pure and utter nonsense
If you want to twist ut to suit your agenda then thst is your problem. Time and time again I seem to have to repeat myself.
Has sterling being targeted? Yes
Is it racially motivated or fuelled? Is it feck
Why? Because other players such as Rooney and Beckham have had the same treatment if not worse.
-----------------------------
Rooney and Beckham have been targeted when they have done something wrong. Sterling has often been targeted when he has done nothing wrong. Especially in the last 3 years or so. This has been explained to you on several occasions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

As has already been explained, if the tabloids target every black player, it becomes a bit obvious. That said, Jesse has certainly had some bad press. Some of the others may have too - I don't really read any tabloids, so wouldn't be aware of that.

So the whole villification of a player is fine as long as you doing something wrong like getting sent off in a football match. Okkkkkkay then

No-one is saying it is ok. Why do you keep putting words in people's mouths? But in Beckham's instance he had made a mistake. It was a petulant kick that cost his country in a big tournament. Sterling in contrast shopped at a pound store!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah he did. Which he hasn't been villified for. Read the fecking article properly
--------------------
I have read the article properly and pointed out to you how they have turned a story about Sterling being thrifty into a story about him being flashy. And the suggestion that it is a reason for his poor England form. You simply don't possess the intelligence to see how the press, especially the tabloids, work and how the manipulate people.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No you are just making it up and twisting it in your own mind. We have gathered that

Nope. Its just that I have the brain capacity, academic qualifications and experience to dissect an article and see the underlying message behind it. Not that anyone should need any of the above to understand that particular article. It really is very basic comprehension. Why don't we put it to a vote and see how many people on the thread agree with you and how many agree with me?

So were rooney and becks villifying fuelling racism then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So just to check, you’re saying that as there’s the same outcome, the cause must be the same? Honestly?

Quite laughable that you can't read between the lines.
How exactly have you seen a lack of evidence if you haven’t read any of the source material? That’s sounding like confirmation bias to me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
What had Beckham done wrong?
Secondly if its racially fuelled why isn't Rashford, Lingard, Alexander Arnold, Welbeck, walcott etc etc getting stick???
---------------------------------
Becks had cheated on his wife. He had got sent off for a petulant kick. He had, according to SAF, lost focus on the game.
As has already been explained, if the tabloids target every black player, it becomes a bit obvious. That said, Jesse has certainly had some bad press. Some of the others may have too - I don't really read any tabloids, so wouldn't be aware of that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Had he or was it just tabloid rumours?
Getting sent off!! Haha so thats ok for him to get vilified in the press for ages
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where did I say it was ok?
You are confusing yourself.
And what it takes ten seconds to read the article, it’s quite long hence I posted the link.
Stop avoiding it and educate yourself by reading what a proper journalist thinks about the press and their conduct to black players.
Or should we listen to you who’s being called out by his own fans as an idiot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You haven't grasped thd fact yet i couldn't give a feck what my own fans think or anyone else for that matter. I have my own opinion and I don't follow the crowd like you
--------------------------------------
Don't follow the crowd.
Lapping up the tabloid nonsense like its gospel, but 'I don't follow the crowd'! Brilliant. You are a sheep mate and you don't even realise it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is gospel????

As I have already said to you previously, it wasn't ok how the press went after Becks. But he had at least made a mistake with the kick out.
..................
So the whole villification of a player is fine as long as you doing something wrong like getting sent off in a football match. Okkkkkkay then
-----------------------
No-one is saying it is ok.
We have gathered that
-----------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you like. Couldb't give a feck on the result. Still won't change my mind as its all on opinion rather than fact
----------------------------
Nothing will change your mind. We all know that. But it has been mildly entertaining at least taking apart your argument - if you can call it that.
When pretty much everyone disagrees with you, there is a very good chance that you are wrong. Not always. But usually.

Seriously, how on earth can your brain think that’s a logical train of thought?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So were rooney and becks villifying fuelling racism then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So just to check, you’re saying that as there’s the same outcome, the cause must be the same? Honestly?

Unfortunately there are idiots wherever you go. Hell i only have to come on here to find that one out. But to say its a major problem in football is quite frankly laughable

Out of interest, how much of the reporting on Sterling, particularly by the Sun, have you followed over the past few years?

Don't read the tabloids. However i have seen the evidence or lack of to try and prove that all the attention he gets is fuelling racism. Quite laughable actually that you think that

How exactly have you seen a lack of evidence if you haven’t read any of the source material? That’s sounding like confirmation bias to me.
