Exactly and to ignore and deny this is ludicrous.

Nonsense about black players. Where is the potrayal rashford, lingard, delph, sturridge, gomez, alexander-arnold, sancho, young, bertrand all other black England players?
Where was the race campaign when you had thd likes of rooney, grealish, beckham in the media constantly?
-------------------------------

The question is, had Rooney, Grealish and Beckham actually done things that were worthy of being reported in a negative light? In most instances the answer is yes.

As Sterling has said, the problem comes when you have a story about a black lad buying his mum a house and the paper goes with the angle of how he hasn't even played for City. Yet Foden has done the same thing and he is described as securing his mum's future. The young white lad is getting what he deserves, but wait, what is this young black man doing with all this money? How dare he?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well said Elvis, you understand the difference.

And the problem with disparity in the press.
---------------------

I've got a huge problem with disparity in the press at the moment. The whole Brexit thing is a disgrace. There has basically been a pro-remain agenda in the press since the referendum took place. Prime example being yesterday how how the different marches were reported in the press. The pro-Brexit march went off peacefully and I have seen it said (on social media) that there were upwards of 20,000. The pro-remain march saw 3 arrests and I have seen a lot of videos of the police having to get the batons out to control the crowd. There was quite a lot of trouble. The crowds looked relatively small to me. When it is reported on the BBC etc. we hear briefly about the arrests - had that been in the pro-Brexit march it would have been headline news. Then they report that only a few thousand turned out for the pro-Brexit vote yet there were 15,000 at the pro-remain vote.

There is a huge push to promote this idea that the country has swayed to wards remain since the referendum, but from my personal experience, I just don't believe that is the case.

Indeed it is.
Wether or not Anthony Joseph wrote that peice purposely targeting that young player from city, based solely on the colour of his skin, or was somehow under editorial pressure to do so, is another matter entirely.

Elvis, it's better to get independent numbers for those as from what I've seen, the crowd for remain looked bigger than the the pro Brexit side. The police also give their own estimates as well.

The perils of getting your news from social media

Social media is an echo chamber where anything and everything, no matter how ridiculous, is passed off as truth.

You should always read newspapers with opposing views from your own from time to time. Gives you a bit of perspective.

The way things are reported have an affect on how a story is perceived.

There was a story in the sun about a bunch of youths drinking and making a rukus in a graveyard behind a church. The Sun made to a point to say they were Asian Muslim, yet, if they were white neither their colour nor their faith would have been mentioned.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what about jobs that are looking for black and ethnic minorities is that racist?

Sturridge in his youth and Lingard definitely received similar types of media attention and a negative an perception not dissimilar to how Sterling is treated. Young black players who are confident within themselves and how they portray themselves will tend to get the treatment.

If the papers are fuelling racism then why us it only Sterling is targeted and not othher black players?

Secondly Beckham was pretty much branded a national disgrace after his sending off. Far worse than anything sterling has endured and even at one point called out the media fir constant attacks against him. Not at any point was race brought into it. Why is that?

Python have you read the twitter thread of all the times Raheem has been in the press?

Read that and come back to say it's the same as it is for the white players you're going on about

so I guess that includes sterling the snowflake who said himself he was racially abused by fans and then gave a pretty good example of the 2 news stories depicting how players of different colour are reported just for a buying a house
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Foden bought a house for his parents, the other guy bought a house for himself. Crazy how selfless acts are viewed positively and selfish acts are viewed negatively. Must be racism.

Manc Python is spot on. Ashford, Lingard, Gomez get zero negative coverage because they seem like good people. Yes the public don't have much to judge on burritos natural to judge people no matter how much information you have. From what the public can see, Sterling is arrogant, always miserable, sheits all over his current club to get a transfer and puts zero effort for his country compared to club football. Brings it on himself.

Brings what on himself ?

Manc, no, that's the short answer.

Long answer?

There have been many social experiments where a person with a non-foreign sounding name getting more replies and job offers to offers of lodgings than those with enthic backgrounds. If quotas aren't put in, guess who misses out because their names?

Many times people make this point, and in an ideal world you'd be hired on merit, but that's just isn't the case.

If you can find find a system that hires the right person for the job regardless of ethnic backgrounds and gives equal opportunities to those on whatever part of the social ladder they are on, I'm all ears.

Yes I certainly have. Rooney was in the press for getting drunk at a wedding, playing a piano at a wedding, colleen accusing him of not doing housework etc etc. These were in the days where twitter, instagram etc etc wasn't anywhere near as prevelant as it is now

From what the public can see, Sterling is arrogant? Always miserable? Aka what the public can see from how the media reports his activities? Because any professional or even member of the public I’ve read who’s interacted with Sterling say he’s a perfectly pleasant young man.

I mean look at the absolute state of this, it's exactly what we're talking about here, the view that the above portrays comes directly from the mnedia this complete ar$e reads daily, and yet he thinks there is no problem.

But yep it's the same, FFS some of you complete idiots can't see beyond the rags you read daily.

Highly unlikely that Sterling thought up this line of response.

But it will kill all negative stories about black players.

Nothing really changes with the mindset.

And it will fuel racist fans to scream "You Manc c***t" at any opportunity.
