----------------------------------------------------------------------
In terms of Son the player, we need a new face in to fill that void but they will never replace him as a person and talisman.
I see the likes of Porro being a genuinely committed player, passionate about the club and very likeable and key to the dressing room.
I think the likes of Bergvall, in time, will prove to be a big influence. I just have a hunch that he's going to turn out to be very special, and key to our future.
I think the club owe it to the fans to bring in a marque signing this summer to offset the colossal loss of Son. Obviously he was more of a bench man at the end but just as a figurehead. It feels like a dereliction of duty to let someone like that go without even considering what kind of star quality can replace him. It doesn't have to be in the same position but a name that's known well would help.
The latest is that Elliot is a no go according to Ben Jacobs and if we were going to get someone like Eze, it would have happened by now. He's either locked down with Arsenal, or, more likely, we don't want to pay his wages.
It'll be that kid from Leicester. We're basically moving like Brentford. Everton are having a better window than we are. It's hard to believe we've got CL, it really is.

Hard to imagine any forwards we have currently reaching the levels Son reached. On his day he was world class. He was more top class than world class I would say but nonetheless he set a high standard that will be difficult for others to get to. Kudus at the moment is the one who looks most likely. If Madders could ever stay injury free enough then him too.
Again, if he can be free from injury then VDV is probably the one player most likely to get to a world class level.
I think Kulusevski could be the new “leader” certainly on the pitch, seems to have the most passion.
But both Porro and VDV could step up

I agree with that sentiment.
I think may be with Eze that CP are waiting for their UEFA appeal to happen before deciding, pr may be the player is waiting for that decision.
I am not sure Arsenal have the funds without getting rid of one or 2.
On their books they have Martinelli, Madueke, Jesus, Havertz, Goykeres, Saka, Kwaneri, Trossard...do you add Eze to that? Theyve spent about 200m already
Yeah, part of me is convinced he's going to Arsenal on the basis that I can't quite believe we wouldn't have a punt on him given how he solves three key areas for us - left wing, number 10 and home grown.
It's such a no brainer that there must be a reason we're not going for it. Even if you factor in their Europa League decision, he'd still fancy us and with his contract having only 2 years left, they'll take 60-65m for him.
I just think, as ever with out club, we're looking at cheaper options. Not so much for fees but for wages.
Maddison has done his ACL unfortunately. Been very unlucky with injuries. This will be hard to come back from
Out for the season too. We need to make moves, fast.
Is this a career ender? I know Gazza had it but they fecked up his surgery. Not sure how advanced things are now.

Official statement re Madders.
gutted for the guy.
instrumental in getting us to lift the trophy, now will miss our UCL season. and a World Cup year.
New manager, new beginnings and he misses that chance to engrain himself into Frank's team.
Another character lost from the dressing room.
Get well soon Madders.
Pretty terrible losing Sonny AND Madders within the space of two days.
At least we have our excuses ready early this season

Right. We need to get the f a ck on with it now. It’s clear Frank wants a number ten as we tried for mgw. So get one. Or creativity is going to be a huge issue for us.
