Carlo was definitely the deciding factor

James put up 13 goals and 13 assists in la Liga during his one season with him

James was quality not so sure now. Barely kicked a ball for 12 months

I think zizou is not a fan but he really picks and chooses his favourites

Turned his nose up at reguillon and hakimi too

Yes but they’ve been playing though. James hasn’t and at 29 playing in the prem for the first time is a bit of a risk.

One well worth taking for Everton but I’m just not sure he’s the same player as he was 3/4 years ago

I think that's fair but I think a lesser version of James is still a very good player

Everton will as always screw it up somehow

No new rumours today, just a rehash is the Gareth Bale “story”

The All or Nothing doc doesn't fill me with confidence wrt signings. That Hitchens doesn't exactly seem like a go-getter - hates the transfer window ffs.

Not what he said at all. He said he hates the January window because it’s not one you can plan for.

I don't think Hamez is especially good tbh

Yeah the latest 3 episodes really did highlight a lot of the key problems with this club especially with recruitment.

Eriksen out, sissoko and kane injured. Let's sign a winger and a unproven player without a position in gedson.

I Liked the bergwijn signing but coming out that window without a striker and playmaker is laughable, here we are needing both again now.

Also funny when Hitchen says he's a player that comes in and improves the first xi, goes to show how people aren't on the same page at this club with Jose favouring Lucas instead in that position.

Why can't you plan for it?

It's an attitude thing and his was negative. This is his job. He should be extremely motivated to get business done, not complaining about the difficulties of it.

You can’t plan for it he’s correct.

You have no clue what situation you will be in for that window. Injuries, form, league position is all up in the air until the window opens.

Hitchin has bought some great transfers for us and others. He’s clearly very good at his job

yep. the problem always will be 'how we work financially'

Course you can plan for it

All those things can be planned for. They're not complete unknowns. How do you think any businesses plan?

You can't plan for a stadium closure due to a global pandemic. But you can absolutely do scenario planning for those things.

The conversation would go something like: "okay, what happens if Harry Kane gets injured?".

Ooh, my comment is topical.

I am a bit worried about Stevie B. Came in, looked great, huge potential and you feel that with a real run in the side he’d be brilliant. But Jose still seems to prefer Lucas.

Hoping he gets his chance from the start of the season this year. Lot of games so shouldn’t be too much of a problem, but I did think he was bought as a first team player.

Stevie B should be a starter no doubt.

Having a conversation isn’t planning for it. You have no clue after the summer window what state you’ll be in by January.

It’s a panic window.

Honestly cannot see how Hitchin anyone come to a conclusion that he came across poorly especially after he did all the work to get Bergwijn in.

(Old convo but) Zizou doesn’t like or rate attacking mids so his use of James is moot. Isco would start for most teams in the world but isn’t first choice at RM.
