Any signs of promise?
I missed the game.
Kind of worried that these injuries will take its toll on this already quality depleted squad.
I didn’t watch the game today but from the comments I’ve seen we still don’t seem to have a direction in terms of style of play which I do find worrying, seems we are just drifting.
We started fast and scored, but like the wolves and Southampton games I don't think we knew what do once we took the lead.
Leicester had a lot of the ball second half but didn't really force anything meaningful from De Gea.
https://understat.com/league/EPL We ppayed well in all our games and only reason we lost points is due to wasteful finishing by us and lethal finishing by opponents. To be honest we should have easily beaten Wolves, Southampton and Palace. We will struggle to have more dominant games territorially and the opposition just trying to defend all game hoping for a lucky break at other end.

Drifting is a good way to describe us ATM. It's like we are waiting for something to happen.
Busby we missed like 4 great chances against Wolves and Southampton.
This is what annoys me, when we take the lead. We then have a habit of stalling.
This isn't the first season it's been like this. It's been a common theme beforehand under latter Jose.
The mentality is weak in the squad.

We're in top 4... And won against a team some have been building up all week... We're still better off in comparison to the corresponding fixtures last season
Yes performances are patchy... But there's stuff to be positive about
individual errors at the back.
---
Well apart from Lindeloff letting Maddison through
Is that harsh though?
I really don't have much confidence in Victor at the moment

In fairness to Leicester, i did think they would get at least a pont from OT today. Such is our patchy performances and confidence.
Although i'm not holding my breath, a win is a win and hopefully it sparks that momentum of upcoming victories for us.

I think most of it was down to an atrocious Leicester performance who tactically had no ambition more than a draw..
We're in desperate need of a midfield general - Pogba won't ever be that and young Scott isn't ready yet (could be though soon). There was more hustle with Pogs missing -it's obvious that building a team around Paul isn't a possibility here and now. I'll state again my opinion that Lindelof could become a good DCM and Axel should partner with Harry at the back. It's something I would try if I had the wheel. I like that Ole is assembling a young, energetic squad, and if that works, we could attract some top talent like we used to. His buys all look promising.
Can't argue with the post's headline.
Result was needed, and it was even more so considering the way the two teams set up and performed.
Back 4 was 'motm'.
Mata and fred excepted, the rest were ordinary
Mata was poor tbh. Has 3 great chances to put James into good positions and messed each of them up.

Don't care tbh... It's 3 points and a step in the right direction... A baby step... But still
Leicester City were the most attacking side we faced really since Chelsea. The Palace, Saints and Wolves games the opposition attacked us for 5 minutes and rest of he game we were full on all out attack against the opposition defence wasting many big chances.

Or up them... Just for science sake
Thought Fred was very good when he came on. Energy, composure and kept it well. Was very promising. Maguire didn’t give Vardy a sniff and AWB was his imperious self. What a signing he is imo. Rest of the team was just so so.
Agree Manc. It's great to see Oles signings being the best players we have so far this season, which suggests he does have a clue about building a squad.
Ole. We were on top of Wolves for 85 of the 90, against Palace on top for 88 of the 90 and Southampton about 80 of the 90 minutes.
We should have beaten Palace 5-0 really with the positions we got ourselves in and the fact we conceded 2 goals from 3 attacks in whole game is embarrassing. Wolves game we should have scored at least 4 easy goals. Southanpton away game was as one sided chances wise. How we managed to draw that game was amazing.
Palace lost 4-0 to a team had less than half of the expected goals chances we has against Palace.
