Eddie was like a pin ball bouncing from one defender to the next, he didn't have a chance and their defense made sure of that, when he can run at you he can do damage, but they didn't allow that!..

Birmingham worked very hard to make life hard for us and made a great game of it!..

The same as Preston!..

We are missing a bit in the middle. KP is fine as the holding but in front of that we are a bit lightweight imo. Not his biggest fan but I think we have missed Forshaw.

Completely agree, midfield too lightweight possibly through fatigue now but definitely missing Pablo.

But we scored 5 goals so something went right up top.
———————————————

This is why I don’t look at stats, I use my eyes.

I actually didn’t think Eddie played bad at all.

But we didn’t play well at all, and while we scored five, it was one of the games where everything just went in.

I’ve seen us play better going forward and score only one goal.

Strange strange game

"But we scored 5 goals so something went right up top."

Cal, why I wrote!..

"Thing is playing players against each other is if Bamford had played he would have held the ball up front more and it wouldn't have come back as often or as fast as it did!..

4v5 could have been 2v8 the way the game panned out, but, if Kiko had played the way he sometimes does it could have been 2v5!.."

We scored 5 but if the ball was used better up front it could have been more, that or we could have let less in!..

Bamford holding the ball would have given their defense more to think about and made it easier for our midfield knowing the ball wasn't coming back the way it did!..

People saying this and that should give Birmingham a bit/lot of credit, they made a game of it and what a game it was!..

Just watched the highlights again. Casilla was fouled for their second and in most games that would be given. However he still need to learn how to catch a ball or at least knock it out of the danger area.

But Ayling!

He was everywhere. Ok he’s not the best defender and should have done better with their 4th goal but wow! I’ve not seen a Leeds player take a game by the scruff of the neck, like he did yesterday, for a long time.

Scored a screamer. Made the Dallas goal and was still pushing forward on 96mins for the winner.

A true captains display from him.

You do realise Cooper is the Captain?

Of course I do! That takes nothing away from what I said - Ayling display yesterday was a true captains display.

We need 11 “captains” on the pitch if at all possible.

Well saved

As someone who has followed The club for over fifty years I think by now I know who is the captain on any given day.

A player doesn’t have to wear the armband fo give a display worthy of a captain.

Elsbels makes a spurious and ambiguous statement
Imo on a player making his first start, a player I
thought played well on the day and certainly takes
no blame for the 4 goals conceded.
This is what he partly writes: "you'd have to be a fool
to not notice the correlation between Eddie's
appearances and slumps in performance on the field.
We're a much better side with Bamford leading the
line and I doubt we'd have conceded four goals with
him on the pitch."

Well this fool has a better spurious and ambiguous
statement to make, here's my offering:
Bamford didn't play against Birmingham and we
scored 5 (1og)
Had Bamford played we wouldn't have scored and he
would have missed 4.

The way that game went and a 2 goal lead Bamford just might have got a hat trick!..

I don't think people are trying to bring Eddie down, they're saying he's been started and it hasn't worked!..

The question has been asked but is he really what is needed?..

Can we go back to 1-0 wins please, can't be doing with this. Luckily missed the whole game as I was on a flight. Will watch the extended highlights in a bit and have a look at some shocking defending.

I might get slated but a fit Lassoga in this system would be dynamite.

Fully fit and with a desire to play.

Absolutely, but thinking back I think his head was as broken as his body when he played for us.

However its that sort of player we need to be looking at

Yes - someone who can finish chances and also work hard (maybe his downfall).

Bamford has more than earned his place in the team. Nketiah shows plenty of potential in a side not set up to make the most of his style of play.

I'd like to see both play up front but there's more chance of Bielsa conducting an interview in English than there is in him changing his tactics.
