Good move by Ole another player moved on who didn't really have a future.

Oles changing my mind about him, he's not Fergie but he's doing alright.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
tbh honest although I am happy with the end result, what has happened in lead up same very amateurish

my understanding which could be wrong is
1)inter sounded out there interest
2)utd desperate to keep hold of him offered young a new contract
3)young rejects utd contract
4)young set to join inter

none of the above strikes me as if utd were ever in control of the situation
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What should have been done differently?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am happy the outcome is that young is leaving
but why were we trying to keep him for all the talk about building for the future only to get pied by ashley effing young.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For his experience and example to the kids I'd imagine. Apparently he wants regular football though and a final jaunt in Milan must be pretty tempting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am a young footballer hoping to become one of the best at what i do
what can I learn from young?

tbh i think the long term presence of some mediocre players creates a culture within the club where mediocrity is deemed acceptable in fact when I see him with th arm band it tells me young is the standard which our young players should aim for

Getting rid of Young and bringing in Fernandes and Soumare. IF this all happens, I rate this window a good 9/10.

Lovely

Sancho, Koulibaly and Ndidi in the summer and we’re ready to go 👀
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would have to cut another player from the squad if Bruno and Soumare were to come in.

TFM out on loan?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This maybe wise because I doubt Ole will give him game time if he buys these other midfielders. Half a season could work with him coming back in the summer once Matic leaves.

Duncan Castles reporting we’re being tight with the Fernandes deal and won’t offer more than 50m as a straight forward payment. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Now all what we need to happen is Young feeling home sick and Raiola signing up Soumare 😭

The story that we offered Young a new deal was a made up story by Sky to further push the United are a shambles agenda.

Simon Stone has reported this story with no mention of a new deal being offered to Young.

Agreed.

Why on earth Ole wanted to keep Young another season is beyond me.

Fair play to Judward getting a fee.

Lads Sky were the only outlet reporting the offered Young a new deal. They are not reliable anymore.

If we wanted to keep Young for another year we would have offered him a deal before January especially with the way we hand out contracts to players who don’t deserve it.

United fans are harsh on Young. He gave us one of the best moments of the PL era, when that bird shat in his mouth.

Don't spoil it.

Wife, son and I were at my mums the other week, I was having a few beers with the brother and watching the football and the topic of Ashley Young and the bird crapping in his mouth came up. My brother was laughing his head off and asking wtf has had a bird crap in their mouth. My wife blurts out, I have. She was lying out the back sunbathing in the summer when a bird flew over her and crapped in her mouth. Was great. She didnt like it much mind.

An ideal time for Young to go for his last big adventure.

Appreciate the longevity at this club.

He’s been a true professional.

You had some good games in the past.

All the best Captain.

Now let’s build for the future!

Easy to forget the player he once was but he was outstanding at Villa.

Never quite reproduced the same at United although had a few good spells.

he was very good for us first few years at the club but lets be honest he's been rubbish at lb for a while now, whilst I appreciate the longevity of a player like him at the club he needed to be shipped a few years back
