Fulham ahead. Gap down to 4 points!

posted on 17/1/20

Kebab why do you write such tripe.

club has 1 striker going into a massive game in the capital city where we have not won for 2 years.

We only play one striker, and will have Costa and Harrison who can move inside.

Only 18 players deemed capable of starting games.

You can only have 18 players in the match day squad.

3 injuries already confirmed for tomorrow with Pablo and Shackleton probably not deemed fit enough to start yet.

No mention from Bielsa re Pablo not being fit enough.

None of the outfield youngsters getting game time this season have proven themselves capable of stepping up.

Not one youngster has proven themselves capable of starting and making an impact. U23 football is miles away from the real thing.

17 days of transfer window now gone. Most other clubs already have reinforcements.

Only Swansea and Preston in the top half have signed anyone and they are U21 loanees, hardly marquee signings or in the case of Preston an over the hill 31 year old Scott Sinclair who has started one game this season for Celtic.

Our other immediate rivals have signed absolutely no-one.

They really can’t

Algarve, scoff if you want but Swansea didn't just add 3 loanees. They added 3 members of the U17 world cup winning team. Brewster's no slouch. Guehi not going to rave about that one. But, Conor Gallagher has had a really good first half of season at Charlton. All three highly rated youngsters. And Cooper was the manager of that England team when they won.

Not marquee signings. But, they will help them.

pablo and shackleton - "probably"

U23 football is miles away - exactly your agreeing with my tripe.

most other clubs have reinforcements -
stoke
huddersfield
derby
hull
millwall
fulham
qpr
boro
swansea
barnsley
preston
wigan
charlton

thats 13/23 and in some case theyve signed 2-3 players.

fulham not a rival - 4points behind and just got a £17.5m centre back on loan for the rest of the season.

Our owners seem to want Championship football. They're happy to get 35k attendances 23 times a season yet they behave as if we get 3.5k attendances. Gap is 4 points but they've saved 2 weeks player wages already by leaving it till the last week

Think we’ve hit an all time low

Fans defending the club by having only one striker, by justifying because we’ve the option of playing a winger as the lone striker.

😂😂😂😂😂😂

No wonder we get mugged by poor owners

Just imagine Costa playing the lone striker role. He gets knocked of the ball all the time playing winger and hes probably the weakest player aerially at the club.

I can understand the frustration because I'm in exactly the same place. It's worrying that absolutely nothing has happened so far. The way the club seems to drag its heels where transfers are concerned is infuriating. We were supposed to have a keeper & winger signed this week, neither of which has happened. Whether you think they're what we need or not is another matter. They're certainly not experienced signings. As for the striker, it's anyone's guess who we'll wind up with as a variety of doors slam shut in our face. It wouldn't surprise me if we faff about for the rest of the window just to blow a sigh of muted relief that we got anybody in at all, whoever the hell they are.

When you consider that White has publicly declared he wants to be with us in th PL next season, you'd think the owners would be busting a gut to get some decent business done to give us the best chance of going up. If we don't, it's bye-bye Bielsa, White & God knows who else. 2 years slogging for nothing because AR & co didn't have the sphericals to show some ambition & build on the solid platform that had been created.

As usual, I'd love to eat my words but we've all seen the same pattern too many times before. It all boils down to trust, & I'm sad to say I don't trust the owners to deliver what's needed, despite what they say.

Talk is cheap, ambition isn't.

4 fooking points as it stands and it could be less tomorrow. How did we throw that away

No chance the club will buy a decent striker, no chance. We don’t have the money to buy one with all the attributes and up to the fitness levels to make any impact before March/April, Those players are all playing regular and needed by their clubs.

Yep, that whole "calm the fook down, we're _____ points ahead of 3rd" line looks paper thin about now.

LIW.. 😂 - Love that catch phrase, I’ve totally stole it and preach to my mates regularly 👍

Kebab.. Ain’t no getting around the fact that we need a striker.. Disagree with the tone on the article but agree in general 👍

It's crunch time for Orta, Kinnear and Radz. If they fook this up for the the second year on the trot and it contributes to anything but promotion it would be unforgivable. They talk a great game about future stadium and training complex plans and attracting big investment. Get this wrong and those plans are up in smoke. 16 years of being fobbed off and a whole lot worse can end if they strengthen the squad befitting of a side taking promotion seriously instead of being bypassed by every man and his dog in that time.

Rob, if they don't act, I can see us slipping up a few times in the next few weeks. Losing second place and then caving mentally under the pressure. Again. Play offs while on paper would leave us with a chance. We all fear it's more likely to be another recipe for disaster.

Club said they don't want to gamble on signing's. Given we have just 12 days left of the window, I think gamble's are all we can get now. Are Saints really going to risk losing Che Adams now? Are Watford going to do the same with Gray (plays more than Adams) Sharp doesn't want to join reportedly, not until summer anyway, so who does that realistically leave us with?

Should have signed a Roofe replacement in the summer as well as Nkeitah, not just letting Orta have another failed pet project.

You mean they'd call up a winger to play striker? Hmmm where have I heard someone say that wasn't a good idea before

Would you rathe the club signed the wrong striker just so we had one, or spend the money wisely on a good fit. If the club rushed out and brought someone mediocre in just for the body a lot of the people on here criticising would be criticising that too.

Calm down.

Fulham swapped mitrovic for bobby Reid another established striker at this level.
£20m defender sat on the bench and a £17.5m one just loaned in.

£17.5 million flop, I assume you meant.

Fulham have more money than us. I struggle to understand your point. We have to work on a smaller budget than them.

I suspect we would have more money for new players if Radz and Co weren't rewarding themselves so handsomely.
