Ole has no clue

Quite the irony seeing the words "has no clue" in the same sentence as saying Bruno is an AMF. He can play there, but is seen as a #8 and started his career as a DM.

--------------------------------------------

I made a point of watching him for a bit and I'm sure he was getting a bit frustrated with what he was seeing.

There were times when he was in good positions to receive a pass on the turn but the ball went to a safer option and when he had the ball he was looking for runners but nobody was committing.

The players need movement and running drilled into them. It needs to be constant. It's one of the reasons why the top teams are as good as they are.

Even up against deep defences, you need to be making runs and finding whatever space you can because in Bruno, we now have a player who can find a teammate in tight spaces in the box. Keep making those runs and he'll pick them out eventually.

👍 I like the sheet fact he's already demanding more from his teammates. As much as I think Martial is a lazy so-and-so, he has ability and being coujoled and encouraged by a teammate who can pick a killer pass will hopefully wake him up

One of the other reasons why I wanted Bruno is because he was a leader at Sporting, the heartbeat of the team in more ways than one.

In time, I would expect him to become more vocal on and off the pitch at United. He's a born leader.

I think he'd make a good captain one day.

He didn’t get moved to ‘CDM’. Just CM. There’s a difference.

We didn’t really play with an out and out CDM, but of the two in there, Fred is the one that goes to recover the ball.

I made a point of watching him over the last couple of weeks before we signed him, just to see what all the fuss was about. The most eye catching thing was a defence splitting through ball against Benfica that led to Sporting hitting the post. But his general anger and passion was also very noticable. And his stats back that up. He is just as good defensively as he is attacking wise. His work rate appears to be up there with "Bobby" (hate that nickname) at Liverpool. And that's a pretty good bar to be aiming at

People make the mistake in assuming if you're playing 4-2-3-1, it automatically means your two central midfielders are acting as defensive midfielders and wrongly make it out to be a defensive set up. This has been going on for ages and I don't know why.

The same thing used to happen with the wide players in the same system. Some people used to say you couldn't play with proper wingers, that they had to be inverted wingers of attacking midfielders who played narrow.

It's really strange.

I would give this article zero stars if I could, but one star will have to suffice.

If all the sticks to beat Ole with, and they are a good few, the OP has picked a month-old stick of celery.

To be fair we’ve had 2 managers now that don’t know where to play Pogba. That suggests it’s Pogba and not the managers that’s the issue, constantly trying to shoehorn him in.

I laughed at that too

Obviously they have little or no knowledge of Bruno outside of his goal scoring stats and a goal/assist compilation on YouTube

-------------------------------------------------------------

because hes played DM we should use him there? the argument is Ole shifted Perreira around, which the begs the question what did Ole see in Perreira to keep him in the squad? Has anyone rated Perreira to play first team football? it all comes down to Ole decision making, all the fans could see Lingard and Perreira are rubbish except Ole, which then he has to rotate other players on the pitch to accomodate their poor performances because he actually believed they were decent footballers

Pereira is probably *fifth* choice at number six after Fred, Pogba, Matic and McT.

He obviously didn’t want to start him there yesterday, but he had to.

Do you think he really wanted to have to move Bruno, who had started the game well back into midfield?

Ffs.

He’s started exactly three PL games in central midfield. The rest have been on the right side of the attack, or at number ten.

He hasn’t played him at number six in the league unless he’s absolutely had to.

No... But it means we can if we have to

We didn't though.... He dropped deeper than he started but never went to an out and out DM

You stated he'd bought an attacking midfielder

Bruno has played on the right of a midfield 3 just as often as a 10 or as an attacking mf

So you're wrong... Again
