Just watched it again I can conclude that both Peeder and Vidal are idiots. First goal, the volleyed cross was a great piece of skill like Forsyth's cross against Stoke. Wrong footed the entire Derby defence who were running back in to position to defend the cross they were expecting after the ball had been controlled. If you have players who could have defended that on Sunday morning sign them up although I know the real answer,

Second goal was a good in swinging corner to the near post at the right height for the glancing header. It was defended but the ball flew anywhere and unfortunately to a Brizzle head.

Rules for Corners,
In swingers near post
Out swingers centre of goal.
Dipping corner to back post and beyond.
The defending of the short corner for the third goal was abysmal I must admit.

Spart ... just concentrate on watching Wisdom for the 1st goal.
He did not need to follow the cross. There was another player to do that.
The volleyed cross back in was superb BUT Wells had an easy task because Wisdom left him alone.
Its not rocket science. Stick with your man.

I don't remember BC's teams leaving centre forwards to stand on their own so they could nod balls into the net. Or let teams cross willy nilly, or have a useless keeper. Bring back Colin Boulton.

Wells isn't a centre forward. Follow a deeper lying forward with pace and you will be left stranded looking at a clean pair heels

I can remember plenty of free headers for us and the opposition because of well placed crosses.

Well you wouldn't be playing footy here - everything going sideways at 80 mph!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's shorts weather for Backo, (any less severe and it Speedos).

Always best to wear shorts in wet weather... less trouser to dry out.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
If they wore shorts on Lewis they'd be locked up. Isn't that right Heb?

There is this element of luck involved. eg. TL's great shot it the post and came to Waggy. Admitted he was quick to react but if it had bounced wide it would just have been a great attempt by TL.

It's Waggys job to be in the right place 3R.

posted on 15/2/20

Not strictly true Scouse. It was his job to react faster then the defence but if it rebounded differently it would not have a miss due to Waggy doing or not doing his job. Sorry to split hairs with you on this one.

Afternoon all.
Dennis is due to peak here between 6 & 7 pm. Ideal for the game at Carra Ruud.
Should be quite hairy at PP around kick off time.

Got a sky pass for that one Heb, but not the red button game v QPR on the following Tues

Judging from the WBA v Dogs game on tv, our encounter at PP in April might be a bit of an aggressive affair

We're 'waiting' to go Live, btw....
