Wolves v Brighton Preview

If Wolves have a bogey team then it’s surely Brighton. We have played them 33 times in total and we won the first two. Then we didn’t win any of the next 13. We then had a better run, winning 3 of 7. But the last 11 times we have played them we have only won once.

So in the 33 games between the teams in total we have won 6, drawn 12 and lost 15.

We'll put that right on Saturday DJ

What is it with Brighton & Huddersfield, same insipid blue stripes, same awful record.

Watched them play Palace on Saturday, they were poor. Main threat was Mooy wanging in crosses for their giant defenders, so we'll need to be up for that fight. Last season's game stood out as one of the most negative away performances I've seen in a long time from a team determined to not concede. Coincided with being one of those games when just nothing goes for you in front of goal. Let's hope we get what we deserve on Saturday. 3pm too!

Last season’s game was terrible, Chris Hughton fighting for survival, keeping them up playing negative football then getting sacked for succeeding with that. The new manager is getting them to play a slightly better style, but the players aren’t quite good enough for that, and I think they have every chance of going down

Liverpool getting dicked again, by Chelsea this time.

Liverpool have played an incredibly intense game all season and that looks like it might have caught up with them. Fail to beat Athletico and their sole focus becomes getting over the line in the Premier League. But to be fair that was always their priority this season and to win it so emphatically is a great achievement

Chelsea's win last night must make them one of the favourites to win the cup. If they achieve that, then 7th in the table will surely become a Europa League place again.

Good commentary from Martin Keown in the Sheff Wed cup tie tonight:

‘Dominic Iorfa Has been given his chance this evening after not playing much this season’.

Iorfa is playing his 35th game of the season

Why?

I'm trying to work out if there is sarcasm in this.

No, I think he means they will have less interest in the league.

Which I can understand with Leicester. We are not catching Man City though.

Can’t believe we will see Traore in the team on Saturday. The incident that lead to his shoulder popping out on Sunday was a minor one so the joint must be very unstable. Difficult to see how they can solve that without an operation unless he is allowed to wear lots of protective strapping

posted on 5/3/20

If he plays Nuno should have a word with the ref before the game and ask him to watch particularly for any Brighton player grabbing Traore by the left arm. It is obvious that he has been targeted by both Man U and Spurs and any further attacks on him should result in an immediate yellow card.

. We want a club finishing top six to win the FA cup don't we, opening up European spots further down the table or am I wrong?

Ah ok. Makes sense now.

Much more sense than wanting Man City to concentrate on cup competitions so we can catch them.

If Man City win the FA cup it won't open up any slots unless the European ban is overturned.
