Mendy of Man City and 3 Leicester players also now self isolating. Much as I would like football to continue, last nights game showed football without fans is just painful to watch
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Football without fans is pointless as a control measure anyway, it will just cause them to gather in a pub or other indoor location. The open air rationale of allowing them to games would work if they all arrived one by one and didn't share public transport or crowd in pubs before games.

They really should suspend it to be honest, if they are serious about delaying the spread.

players out through injury or illness is part of football - don't see why we dont just carry on

Carry on when entire squads have to go into isolation?

Next week's 2nd leg has been called off.

Premier League suspended to April 3rd

The government announcement yesterday said that they expect coronavirus to peak in the U.K. in June. So the chances of the leagues starting up again early in April seems remote to me but fingers crossed

Much as it is a bit crappy playing to empty stadiums it can be done and the season can be finished that way. All teams and scaled down ground crews isolate for three weeks after testing and then spend a month quarantined whilst completing the schedule, being ferried to and from stadium to a lock down hotel.

All sounds ridiculous right, but as things stand this season never gets finished which opens up all manner of issues and likely lawsuits.

the period of isolation is 7 days, if it starts today its over on the 20th - why stop a club perfectly able to play for another 2 weeks just to suit those who want to encourage mass panic ?

It does appear to a massive over reaction to something that is relatively harmless by all accounts...or is it?

If the season were to end now I guess that would mean two more prediction league titles in my back pocket

posted on 13/3/20

Remind me to ask you again in a month or two whether there has been an over reaction

how strange that the season is brought to a halt just one game away from when liverpool
could win the title

South Africa had its first case of suspected coronavirus this week. After being admitted to hospital and having the appropriate tests it was concluded the guy had a bad hangover after drinking too many Mexican beers

The reaction is proportional to the reaction in other leagues within Europe. With the NBA in the US.

It isn't a reaction by idiots.

In England’s 5th division, the National League, it has been decided that the games will go ahead as scheduled this weekend

The panic buying has started here now. Lidl in Pollensa was stripped bare at 4 this afternoon. This follows the Balearic government announcing that all schools, cinemas, theatres, casinos, sports centres, etc, etc will close for 14 days as of tomorrow.
Someone please tell me why the panic buying of loo rolls? This is a pulmonary virus not feckin diarrhea!!

The loo roll mania is bizarre. Most supermarkets sold out here. I read that because it’s large and it keeps, then people are drawn to buying it. Worlds gone mad.

Hand gel is marginally more available and less pricey than a successful centre forward

At least there is a logic to buying hand gel but loo rolls?...the mind boggles!
